George L Voorhis, Age 73, died Thursday, August 31, 2000. He was born December 23, 1926 in Highland Park, MI and has lived in Lansing since 1963. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church: a Veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific. and was a graduate of Michigan State University where he was a past president of the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. a member of the President's Club and the Beaumont Society. He was associated with Ameritech for 37 years. retiring as Director of Public Affairs in 1987. He was a Past President and Director of the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce: a co-founder, Director, and President elect of the Greater Lansing Urban League; a former Board Member of the Ingham Co. United Way: former District Chairman of the Lansing Boy Scouts of America, and a member of the University Club. Mr. Voorhis was an avid traveler and proficient scuba diver having visited all 7 continents. and had dived 5 of them. Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Annette; son, Jeffrey Louis (Alison) Voorhis of Lansing, daughter, Judith Anne (Norman) Gutierrez of Silver Spring, MD; 4 grandchildren; brother, Paul H. (Gladys) Voorhis of Palm Springs, CA; nieces and nephews. A memorial celebration of George's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 6, 2000 at Central United Methodist Church, corner of N. Capital and W. Ottawa with the Rev. John W. Boley officiating. The family will receive friends at a memorial visitation from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Central United Methodist Church; Michigan State University Development Fund, or the the American Cancer Society.

Obituary:
Annette, 85, of Lansing, MI passed away Friday, at her home. She was born to Jack and Olive Bennett. She was married to George Voorhis in 1951, and he preceded her in death in 2000.
Annette was an active member of Central United Methodist Church, and the Red Hat Society. She graduated from Michigan State University, and worked as a medical technologist prior to marriage and returned again to work in the early '70s.
She was an avid gardener belonging to the Gaylord Edelweiss Garden Club and Michigan Hosta Society. She was an accomplished nature photographer, with her work published in several publications, and longtime member of the Lansing Camera Club. She enjoyed dividing her time between her gardens in Lansing, and her cottage in Gaylord where she spent time with family and friends.
Annette is survived by her children: of Lansing and of Silver Spring, MD; grandchildren; sisters: Evelyn Edwards and Charlotte Richards; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband George, and her brothers: Everett and Clayton.
A Celebration of Life service was held on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at the Central United Methodist Church, Lansing, MI, with the Rev. Ronald Brooks officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society .

Maxine R. Lechlitner, Age 84, passed away August 13, 2017. She was born December 1, 1932, in Mason, MI, to the late Amos and Eva Fern Parker.
Maxine was a gentle, loving soul who deeply cared for those around her. She just adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a homemaker and ran an adult foster care facility for 20 years. Maxine was also very involved with the American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by her children, Kyle Lechlitner and Jane Griswold; grandchildren, Zachary Griswold, Christine (Paul) Gibson, and Justin Griswold; great-grandchildren, Abigail Gibson and one on the way; brother, Ken Parker; sisters-in-law, Barbara Lou Gearhart, Bea Parker and Mary Lou Parker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas; brothers, Richard, Norman and Roger; and sisters-in-law, Lavina Parker and Barb Parker.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 26, 2017, at Holt United Methodist Church, 2321 N. Aurelius Rd. Her family will receive friends beginning at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday at the church. Inurnment will take place at a later date in uth. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holt United Methodist Church, American Legion Post 238, or the Ingham County Animal Shelter. Arrangements are by the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel.

Thomas M. Lechlitner Holt Age 79, passed away March 23, 2012. He was born June 21, 1932, in Lansing, and graduated from Holt High School and Taft College in California. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the U.S. Navy. Tom worked as a brick layer and was part owner of Parker Brothers Construction. He was a member of Buck Reasoner Post #238 American Legion of Holt. Surviving are: his wife of 59 years, Maxine; son, Kyle Lechlitner; daughter, Jane Griswold; grandchildren, Zachary, Christine and Justin Griswold; sister, Barbara (Richard) Gearhart. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 2, 2012, at Holt United Methodist Church, with The Rev. Dr. Glenn M. Wagner and Pastor Bob Carpenter, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Buck Reasoner Post #238, Hospice House of Mid-Michigan, or Holt United Methodist Church in memory of Thomas Lechlitner.

Anthony David Gibson, age 45 of Potterville, died Sunday, October 5, 2003 following an emergency heart bypass. He was born September 4, 1958 in Jackson, the son of Lillie Caudill and LeRoy DeBoe. Tony was a Bellevue High School Graduate, class of 1978. He was a Desert Storm Veteran serving in the Army and worked for the past 10 years with Spartan Motors in Charlotte. Preceding him in death was a brother, Kenneth Gibson in 2002.
Beloved father, son, brother, uncle and friend, he is survived by his loving children, Maria (Andy) Hall, Jacob (Rose) Gibson and Paul Gibson; 4 grandchildren; mother, Lillie Caudill; brothers, Terry Gibson and Danny (Cici) Gibson; sisters, Margaret (Leonard) Kreischer, Delaine (David) Bria and Reatha (Dale) Mayo; several nieces and nephews; Fiancee, Kathy Caudill and father LeRoy DeBoe.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 9, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. from the Skinner Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids with Rev. Marty DeBow officiating. Burial will follow in the Rosehill Cemetery in Eaton Rapids. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
