Obituary:
SWARTZ ADELE MYRA SWARTZ (nee Pesek), 85 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2011 at New Life Hospice Center following a lengthy illness. She was born October 30, 1926 in Parma, Ohio. Adele was raised in Parma and graduated from Parma High School in the class of 1945. She had made her home in Amherst since 1963. Adele was a loving homemaker and was also employed as a part-time teacher's aide at Amherst Schools where she was active in the Athletic Booster Club. She volunteered during election time working at the polls. Adele was a member of St. Peter United Church of Christ in Amherst where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Altar Guild. Survivors include her sons Jesse F. "Doc" Swartz IV and his wife Jane of Medina, John D. Swartz of Amherst, James M. Swartz and his wife Margaret of Auburn, New York; her daughters Janesy Gravelin and her husband David of Port Charlotte, Florida, Judith Henderson of Cincinnati; her twelve grandchildren; two great grandchildren; her brother and his wife John D. and Harriet Pesek of Mancelona, Michigan; and sister-in-law Lillian Pesek of Parma Heights. She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-five years Jesse F. Swartz III; her brother Myron R. Pesek Jr.; and by her parents Myron R. and Adele Pesek (nee: Dieterich). Services were held privately by the family. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the charity of the donor's choice. OTTOVILLE � Julie Veronica Hemker, 89, of Ottoville died at 9:40 p.m. Sunday, April 22, 2012 at St. Rita�s Medical Center, Lima. She was born November 1, 1922 in Ottoville to the late Joseph and Anna (Beining) Hoersten. On August 19, 1944 she married Hubert �Bud� Hemker who died August 10, 1993.
She is survived by a daughter: Ginni (Larry) Sroufe of Cloverdale; 4 sons: Ronald (Anne) Hemker and Richard (Janet) Hemker both of Ottoville, Gary (Cathy) Hemker of Delphos and Randy (Carol) Hemker of Louisville, KY; a sister: Clarann (Herb) Gerdeman of Delphos; 2 sisters-in-law: Rita Hoersten of Ottoville and Mary Ellen (Tom) Deffenbaugh of Delphos; and a brother-in-law: Bill Hemker of Delphos. She was blessed with 18 grandchildren: Darren (Janet) Sroufe of Boonville, IN, Craig (Katrina) Sroufe of Delphos, Nichole (Judd) Spencer of Cloverdale, Gwenn Spencer of Cloverdale, Brian (Cheryl) Hemker of Marysville, Michelle (Ron) Jaross of Bedminster, NJ, Sarah Hemker of Columbus, Joshua Hemker of Ashland, Terri (Keith) VonLehmden of Liberty Township, Dawn (Eric) Schnipke of Ottoville, Kimberley (Matt) Wannemacher of Ottoville, Christina Hemker of Ottoville, Matt (Sarah) Hemker of Landeck, Doug (Tricia) Hemker of Columbus, Julie (Scott) Horstman of Columbus, Ryan (Katie Grove) Hemker of Chicago, IL, Lauren Hemker of Bloomington, IN and Lexi Hemker of Louisville, KY. She was also a great-grandmother to 23 great-grandchildren, with one on the way.
She was also preceded in death by her 6 brothers: Felix, Lawrence, Vincent, Anthony, Hugo and Clarence Hoersten; 4 sisters: Mathilda Herman, Elizabeth Wegesin, Barbara Schneider and Victoria Luersman; and 2 great-grandchildren: Aiden and Jayce Wannemacher.
Mrs. Hemker was a member of Ottoville Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and their Altar Rosary Society. She loved spending time with her family, baking cookies, praying the rosary, and working in her flower gardens.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 Friday, April 27, 2012 at Ottoville Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. John Stites officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary�s Cemetery, Ottoville. FORT JENNINGS � Ronald E. Von Lehmden, 63, of Fort Jennings died Tuesday, November 24, 2015, at his residence.
He was born April 12, 1952, in Lima to Alvin and Rita (Stechschulte) Von Lehmden. Both preceded him in death. On August 4, 1973 he married Mary H. Schroeder who survives in Fort Jennings. Ron and Mary had just celebrated 42 wonderful years of marriage.
He was a 1970 graduate of Fort Jennings High School. He was a millwright at General Motors in Defiance for 38 years. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Fort Jennings, Delphos Eagles, Kalida Fish and Game, and Pheasants Forever. He enjoyed hunting, golfing, riding his Harley, and visiting with his family.
Survivors include one son: Keith (Terri) Von Lehmden of Frisco, Texas; one daughter: Lisa (Chris) Zidek of Avon; and three grandsons: Caleb and Seth Von Lehmden and Bradley Zidek.
He is also survived by three brothers: Doyle (Joyce) Von Lehmden, Duane (Rebecca) Von Lehmden, and Kim (Yolanda) Von Lehmden all of Fort Jennings; and a sister-in-law: Joann (Mel) Nomina of Glandorf.
He was preceded in death by a brother: Eugene (Yogi) Von Lehmden.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Fort Jennings. Father Mark Hoying will officiate. The burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Fort Jennings.
Friends and family may call on Friday, November 27, 2015 from 2 to 8 p.m. at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township, Fort Jennings, with a parish wake at 1:30 p.m. and one hour prior to the mass on Saturday at the church.

Obituary:
OTTOVILLE - Velma M. Altenburger, 93, of Ottoville died at 2:46 p.m. Thursday, February 19, 2015 at Lima Memorial Hospital. She was born August 30, 1921 in Ft. Jennings to the late Arnold and Ida (Wieging) Martin. On June 5, 1943 she married Jerome "Whitey" Altenburger who died April 4, 2010.
She is survived by 3 children: Gary (Nuan) Altenburger of Thailand, Bruce (Sylvia) Altenburger of Delphos, and Judy (Mike) Heitmeyer of Ottoville; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers: Jim (Pat) Martin of Ottoville and Bob (Dolly) Martin of Landeck; and 2 sisters: Joan "Tooter" Wessell and Bernice Rieger both of Ottoville. She was also preceded in death by a daughter: Brenda Altenburger; a brother: Leroy "Pep" Martin; and 2 brothers-in-law: George Rieger and Ron Wessell.
Velma was a cashier for the Village Market in Ottoville. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ottoville and its Rosary Altar Society. She was a life member of the Ottoville VFW Auxiliary and a member of Ft. Jennings American Legion Auxiliary.
She was determined in her independence, still living at home at 93 years old. She so appreciated all the visits and phone calls from family and friends in her final years. Always the hostess, she would never let company leave hungry. She treasured the many winters spent in St. Petersburg, FL with Whitey. Her love for making crafts, cooking and baking will not soon be forgotten. She lended those talents for many years to the Ottoville VFW Auxiliary.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 23, 2015 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville with Fr. Jerome Schetter officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ottoville. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township where there will be a VFW Auxiliary service at 3 p.m. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Obituary:
Paul M. Gudakunst, 50, died at 11:50 p.m. Oct. 10, 2008, at St. Rita's Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 19, 1958, in Lima to Frank and Catherine Bendele Gudakunst. His father and stepmother, Marilyn, survive in Defiance. His mother survives in Ottoville. On Aug. 27, 1977, he married Renee Wannemacher, who survives in Ottoville.
Mr. Gudakunst was a cook at Lock 16 and the Lima Elks Club. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Ottoville. He was a social member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Grover Hill. He enjoyed cooking and being with his children and grandchildren.
Survivors also include a son, Erik Gudakunst, at home; three daughters, Kerri Gudakunst, at home, Tara (Chad) Eickholt, of Ottoville, and Erin Gudakunst, at home; four grandchildren, Jordan Gudakunst, Damien Gudakunst, Miah Grinner and Kira Grinner; a brother, Gary Gudakunst, of Ottoville; and two sisters, Jan Gudakunst, of Ottoville, and Susie Grime, of Van Wert.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Tate Grinner.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Church, Ottoville. Father John Stites will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ottoville.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at Love-Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Jackson Township, where a Scripture service will be held at 7:30 p.m.
