Jill Dolores Dugas, of Flint, age 64, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2013 at her residence. Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, September 16, 2013 at North Baptist Church, 4004 Lennon Road, Flint, with Pastor Todd Meece officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. Monday until the time of services. Surviving are: husband, Dennis Dugas; children, Julie (Brad) Clarke, Roy (Stephanie) Chance, Monica Dugas, Angela Dugas, and Cecelia Callahan; grandchildren, Jillian (her namesake), Brad II, Madeline, Jacob, Nicholas, Amber, Alyssa, Sally, Kyle, Krystal, Cody, Vanessa, Megan, Breanna, and Brittney, (her grandchildren were the joy of her life); brothers, Jerry (Shirley) Davis and Jack Davis; sister, Margaret Henry; special friend, Kelly Chance and her daughter Madison; and other special friends to numerous to mention. Jill was preceded in death by her parents, sister, niece, granddaughter, and sister-in-law. She worked for Beecher Schools for 33 years, retiring in 2009. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the North Baptist Church Building Fund.

Deborah Lynn Harris Sellars, age 39, of San Angelo died Tuesday, Nov. 1, 1994, in Tampa, Fla. Service will be Thursday, Nov. 3, in Johnson's Funeral Home chapel at 3:30 p.m. with the Rev. Charles Greenwell of Holy Angels Catholic Church officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Johnson's Funeral Home. Debbie was born Oct. 12, 1955, in San Angelo and graduated from Central High School in 1974. She later attended International Air Academy in Seattle, Wash., and graduated in 1992. She married Alan Sellars March 20, 1993. She was employed by Inventory Specialist in Tampa. Debbie is survived by one son, Tommy Jones of Bryan; one daughter, Tammie Dixon and her husband, Eric, of Tampa; one granddaughter, Alexis Dixon, also of Tampa; her parents, Robert and Mickey Harris, one brother, Robert Harris Jr. and wife, Kathleen, and four sisters, Kay Olin, Barbara Scranton and husband, Pat, Patti Heidelberg-Barton and Beth Tucker and husband, Larry, all of San Angelo; her grand mother, Isabella Fischer of Ballinger; two nieces; and seven nephews. Nephews Brad Binion, Billy Dan Olin, Mark Heidelberg, Ben Olin, Matt Tucker and cousin Donnie Briley will serve as pallbearers. Family requests memori-als be made to Hospice of San Angelo.

John Edward Allen, age 82, of Allegan, MI formerly of DeWitt, MI, passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at Ascension Borgess Hospital, Kalamazoo, MI.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis, MI, at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, with Don Hendrick officiating. Burial will take place at Ridgelawn Cemetery, Breckenridge, MI. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
John was born in Goodrich, Michigan on February 11, 1942, the son of Philip Marion and Lois (O'Morrow) Allen. On February 11, 1961, John married Wilma Ann Bott in Wheeler, Michigan. They were married forty-eight years prior to her passing on March 22, 2009. On April 30, 2016, John married Joyce Strand and has enjoyed the last several years with her.
John had several jobs throughout his life, however his passion was construction. He owned his own construction business. He was a hands-on builder who could do everything from blueprints, and framing to finishing. He taught his sons and grandsons the business. John enjoyed the time at his lake house, fishing, and boating. John loved his family and friends and will be missed by all.
He is survived by his wife Joyce, three children: Michael (Tina) Allen, Kellie (Michael) Neal, and Marty (Carrie) Allen; five grandchildren: Michael (Ashley) Neal II, Kasey (Erik) Love, Cutler Allen, Brooke Allen, and Mallorie Allen; four great-grandchildren: Hailey Harton, Jonas Paul, Paisley Neal, and Luka Love; five siblings: Evelyn White, Duane (Gisela) Allen, Linda (Brian) Allen, Brenda (David Scott) Hastings, and Philip (Marlene) Allen; and Joyce's children: Ken (Tamara) Green, Tim (Lori) Green, Denny (Leisa) Green, and Tammy (Steve) Rasmussen; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Wilma, son Mark Allen, brother-in-law Carl White, and Joyce's son Rich Green.

Wilma married John Edward Allen on February 11, 1961 in Wheeler, Michigan. She has resided in Dewitt for the past 43 years and was a past Girl Scout leader for several years in Dewitt. She enjoyed bingo, baking, and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She also had a daycare business for many years and enjoyed working for Gold Standard Jewelry. She was very involved with Relay for Life in Gratiot County. She is survived by and her husband John E. Allen of Dewitt, MI; son Michael and fiancee Tina Baker Allen of Charlotte, MI; daughter Kellie and Michael Neal of Dewitt, MI; son Mark Allen of Dewitt, MI; son Marty and Carrie Allen of Reed City, MI; 5 grandchildren Michael Neal II & fiancee Nicole Levine, Kasey Neal, Cutler Allen, Brooke Allen, and Malorie Allen; sister Darlene and Larry Culver of Alma, MI; brother Kenneth and Karen Bott of Merrill, MI; several other nieces & nephews. John Toomey Lansing, MI
Age 80, passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 28, 2007 with family members at his side. John was born December 8, 1926 in Lansing, Michigan and was the son of Michael and Monera (Rizk) Toomey. The oldest child of Lebanese immigrants, John was a lifelong resident of Lansing. He graduated from Sexton High School in 1944 and served in the U.S. Army at the end of WWII. Following in his father's footsteps, John became a barber in his late teens. He owned and operated Toomey's Barber Shop in Lansing until his retirement in 1986. John was a skilled woodworker and enjoyed working crossword puzzles and playing cards with his friends. He will be remembered as a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather and a good and loyal friend to many. His dignity, strength and optimism in the face of numerous medical challenges served as an example and inspiration for all who knew him. Surviving are his loving wife of 29 years, Jean Marie (Reed) Toomey; children, Amelia (David Vandever), Richard (Margaret), John (Cindy) and Bryan (Kim); brother, Jack (Souad); sister, Naomi (Russell) Hall; 'stepchildren, David (Karen) Gorman, Mary Anne (Victor) Nico, Nancy (James) Ulrey, David (Debbie) Gorman; 15 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be 2-6 p.m. Saturday, December 1, 2007 at Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 West Saginaw Hwy, Lansing 48917. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 2, 2007 at First Pres-byterian Church, 510 W. Ottawa Street, Lansing 48933 with the Rev. Anthony A. Patrick, officiating. Interment will be Delta Hillside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation Michigan Chapter, 1050 Wilshire Drive, Ste 302, Troy, MI 48084-9762 in memory of John.
