Obituary:
Frank J. Pesti, Jr., age 88, of Palmetto, Florida and formerly of Battle Creek, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2016 in Bradenton, Florida. He was born April 16, 1928 in Essex, Michigan the son of Frank and Mary (Chunko) Pesti, Sr. Frank served in the U.S. Army from June 1948 to March 1950 and following his honorable discharge worked at Eaton Corporation as a union steward until the plant closed, and then moved to Florida with his wife in 1993. On July 10, 1963 he married the love of his life, Frances (Whited) who survives.
Also surviving are children: Jerry Hand of Florida, Sue Kingsley, Kathy (Ron) Vincent, Victoria Woody, Kathleen (Mark) Blonde and Evelyn (Richard) Barve all of Michigan; a brother, Michael Pesti of Michigan; a sister, Bessie Fenner and a sister-in law Sharon Pesti of Florida; twelve grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, and a Special friend, Harold Cosby.
He was a religious and spiritual man who loved the Lord and his family. A fun person who loved to play jokes on everyone, Frank also enjoyed gardening and cooking. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 2, 2016 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with Pastor Brad Smith officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service and interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Tidewell Hospice, Philanthropy Dept. 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238.

Port Charlotte, Fla.; Mary C. BAUM, age 89, of port Charlotte, Fla., died on Sunday, Oct. 4, 1998, at Bon Secour Nursing Care Center, Port Charlotte, Fla.
She was born in Hungary on Sept. 18, 1909, a daughter of the late Michael and Martha (HEDGUS) CHUNKO. Mary made her home in Colon, Mich., for 17 years, leaving in 1965 to live in Port Charlotte.
She married Frank PESTI who preceded her in death. On Aug. 17, 1946, she married Albert R. BAUM, who died in 1980.
Mary worked for Abbott Laboratories of Sturgis for 17 years, and was a nurses aid for several years in Port Charlotte. She attended the Baptist Church in Port Charlotte
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Daune (Bessie) FENNER of Port Charlotte; 3 sons, Frank PESTI of Palmetto, Michael PESTI of Sturgis, Mich., and William PESTI of Port Charlotte; 2 step-daughters, Jean Shirley BAUM of Port Charlotte, Gloria GUNTHORP of Howe, Ind; 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Bessie SIMON of Taylor, Anna HARSNAY of Carterville, Ill., and Ella Hogton of Lansing; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a step-son, James D. BAUM; a sister, Julia KZOMA; and 3 brothers, Michael, Andrew and John CHUNKO.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday at the Schipper Funeral Home, Ltd., Colon where funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday with Robert N. Baxter of Colon Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeside Cemetery, Colon.
