Obituary:
Died on December 28, 2016 in Lansing, Michigan. She was born on December 11, 1922 in Akron, Ohio to Dr. Maurice C. and Elizabeth H. (Hopkin) Loree. She grew up in Lansing and graduated from Lansing Central High School in 1940. In 1944 she graduated from the University of Michigan. She was a life-long Wolverine fan who none-the-less later went to Michigan State University to obtain her Masters De�gree.
In 1947 she married Peter C. Mason, Sr. They made their home in Blanchard, Michigan where the raised their chil�dren, Peter C. (Dace) Mason, Jr., James F. (Terry) Mason and Anne L. (Joe) Mason. She had four grandchildren, Matthew (Michelle) Mason, Megan (Peter) Matt, Peter C. (Jamie) Mason III, and Rebecca (Keith) Mason. She also had three greatgrandchildren, Angus Matt, Theodore Matt and Emma�lyn Mason.
She taught for many years in the Edmore, Blanchard and Montabella School Districts.
After the death of her husband in 1982 she moved to the Lansing area to assist in the care of her parents. She later moved to Arizona for the winters and stayed at the family cottage at Crystal Lake in the summer. She was a member of the Blanchard-Pine River United Methodist Church and later the Willow�brook Methodist Church in Sun City, Arizona. She was a member of Chi Omega sorority, the PEO Sisterhood for 70 years, the American Legion Auxiliary, the Blanchard Garden Club and many other groups.
She is survived by her children, grandchildren, great�grandchildren, her brother, James H. Loree, of Northville, Michigan her beloved nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Independence Village � Grand Ledge and the Sparrow Palliative Care Team for their care and support of Jean.
Pursuant to her wishes cremation has taken place by the Palmer, Bush, Jensen Family Funeral Homes of Lansing, Michigan. A memorial service will be held in the spring. The time and place will be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to the Montabella Community Schools Education Fund. Condolences can be made at www.palmerbush.com.

Harold J. Doepker
Funeral services were held today for Harold J. (Ralph) Doepker, 54, of Shepherd at St. Vincent de Paul Church in Shepherd.
Mr. Doepker died Friday, July 20 at Central Michigan Community Hospital. He was born July II. 1918. in Coe.
He was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Church, the Holy Name Society, the Elm Club in Alma, the Loyal Order of Moose in Mount Pleasant and the Shepherd Sports Booster Club. Mr. Doepker operated the Doepker Service Station in Shepherd.
He is survived by his wife, Irene two sons, James of Hope; Robert of Shepherd; two daughters, Mrs. John (Kay) Curtiss and Karen B. Doepker, both of Lansing; five sisters, Hilda Gorman and Clara Schepetof. both of Lansing; Dorothy Quinn of Alma; Katherine Hogan of Carson City; and two brothers, Norbert of Carson City and Raymond of Owosso.
Rosary services were held Sunday sight at the Garber-Berry Funeral Home.

Eugene Snyder

Eugene Snyder, 88, of Secor Road, died Friday in his home. Mr Snyder was employed 42 years with the Toledo Scale division of Reliance Electric Co. retiring in 1962 as a district retail sales manager.
He started in the accounting department and later went into industrial sales. Following that he entered the credit department as an auditor and then was promoted to district retail sales manager.
A business administration graduate of Heidelberg College, Tiffin, Mr. Snyder also attended the University of Toledo.
He was a member of the St. Vincent &Paul Society, St. Pius X Church, and the Quarter Century Club of Toledo Scale.
Surviving is his wife, Verena.
Services will be at 10 a.m. tomorrow in St. Pius X Church. Scripture services will be at 8 tonight in the Ansberg-West Mortuary, where the body will be after 2 today.
