Obituary:
Helen J. Schoen, age 92, Seymour, died Tuesday evening, October 12, 2004. She was born February 7, 1912, in Shawano County, the daughter of the late Simon and Rose (Santoski) Franckowiak. On November 13, 1934 she eloped and married Merrill aMikea Schoen in Devine, Texas. He preceded her in death on November 23, 1991. They made their home in Seymour their entire married lifetime, where they ran their business, Schoenas Refrigeration, for many years. She enjoyed bowling, hunting and especially trout fishing; and as the saying goes, ashe could fish in a pail all day and be perfectly content just being able to fisha. She was also an avid card player and spent many hours with her family and friends enjoying her very favorite pastime. Helen was a faithful member of St. Johnas Catholic Church, Seymour.
She is survived by her daughter, Shirley (Robert) Doepker, Appleton; her son, James (Carla) Schoen, Seymour; grandchildren: Steven (Sandy) Doepker, Appleton; Kenneth (Gail) Doepker, Winneconne; Dr. Sandra (Peter) Groenewold, Appleton; Lisa (Mark) Elsner, Seymour; John (Karen) Schoen, Seymour; nine great-grandchildren: Kristin, Stephanie, and Scott Doepker, Appleton; Dustin Doepker, Neenah; Olivia Groenewold, Appleton; and Aisling, Whittney and Luke Elsner, Seymour; and Emily Schoen, Seymour. She is further survived by her sisters, Lorraine (George) Brozozowski, West Allis; Evelyn Dittman, Milwaukee; Virginia Whittier, Milwaukee; Francis Lemke, Shawano; her sisters-in-law Toots Schoen, Seymour; Irma Schoen, Clintonville; Ruth Franckowiak, Shawano; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her three brothers and three sisters; also a great-grandson, Daniel Doepker.
