She was married to Chet Aubuchon for 56 years. He preceded her in death in 2005. Janet and Chet made their home in Ruskin, FL, coming from Port Huron, MI. Chet retired from St. Clair Community College, where he was Dean of Students. Janet was his 'right' hand. They had taken in many students of all nationalities and religions to live and help get through school, starting with Donna Ludwig and niece, Pam. They also made their home available to Jimmy and Setsuko Sawada, who remained dear friends. Janet was born November 5, 1924 in Shepherd, Mi. She and her parents, Milo and Fern (DuBois) Richmond moved to Owosso, Mi, where she graduated from Owosso High School in 1941. She married Chet on June 18, 1949 in Lansing, MI. She was a gracious hostess with every one having a wonderful time whether there for coffee, a meal, or to live for a period of time. While retired in FL, she hosted years of The Coffee Clutch at her home. Janet is survived by Pam and Jerry Clark, cousins Frank and Joan Hamilton of Waterbury CT, niece Sue Clark of Dallas, TX, many nieces and nephews, including great nieces Cheryl and Jerica Sharp, who helped care for her the last five months, the caregivers in FL and many good friends, especially, Cindi Liles, who grew up on the same block to take care of Janet and Chet. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister and brother-in-law Jeanne (Richmond) Ray Doepker, and brother, George. She was the last in her generation on both Chet's and her family. Janet and Chet's wishes were to buried with her parents and brother in Salt River Cemetery in Shepherd, MI. She has come full circle. She will be remembered with much love. Any memorials can be made to Mercy/Memorial Home Care and/or Hospice, Frenchtown Senior Citizens or donor's choice. Arrangements entrusted to the Muehlig Funeral Chapel.
