NORBERT JOSEPH SCHROEDER, 78, died at 9:45 p.m. Oct. 30, 2006, at his residence.
He was born Oct. 19, 1928, in Leipsic to Victor and Lauretta Warnecke Schroeder, who preceded him in death. On Oct. 10, 1953, he married Mary Elizabeth �Betty� Mesker, who survives in Leipsic.
Mr. Schroeder retired as a dairy farmer. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Leipsic, and its Holy Name Society. He was a member of Milk Marketing, the Dairy Farmers of America, Knights of Columbus Council 1757, Ottawa, and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2793, Leipsic, and he was a social member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9547, Leipsic.
Survivors also include four sons, Thomas (Margaret) Schroeder, of Reading, Mich., Steven (Julie) Schroeder, of Leipsic, Charlie Schroeder, of Reading, Mich., and Joe (Yvette) Schroeder of Leipsic; four daughters, Carol (Phil) Lawson, of Findlay, Sharon (Nick) Inkrott, of Leipsic, Kathy (John) Hart, of Granite Falls, N.C., and Suzi (Larry) McCullough, of Pandora; 26 grandchildren; a brother, Eugene (Carol) Schroeder, of Leipsic; and three sisters, Janie (Lou) Schroeder of Bluffton, Ind., Ruth (Larry) Johnson, of Leipsic, and Mary (Paul) Quint, of Pandora.
He was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Betty Schroeder.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Leipsic. Father George Wenzinger will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at Love-Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Leipsic, where a Knights of Columbus rosary service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
Memorial contributions may be made to Putnam County Home Health & Hospice or the charity of the donor�s choice.

Eugene E. "Gene" Schroeder, 82, of Leipsic died at 8:45 p.m. Thursday, July 23, 2015 at The Meadows of Leipsic. He was born June 2, 1933 in Liberty Township , to the late Victor C. and Loretta (Warnecke) Schroeder. On January 15, 1955 he married Jane Kuhlman who passed away September 28, 1982. On May 22, 1993 he married Carol Wyant Settlemire who survives in Leipsic.
He is survived by three children: Victoria (Charles) Hasselschwert of Dupont, Beverly Siferd of Findlay, Timothy (Linda) Schroeder of Glandorf; two stepdaughters: Dawn (John) Stange of Schaller, IA, Ann (Tim Ricker) Morman of Columbus Grove; three sisters: Jane (Lou) Schroeder of Bluffton, IN, Ruth (Larry) Johnson of Leipsic, Mary (Paul) Quint of Pandora; a sister-in-law: Betty Schroeder of Leipsic; 6 grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren, a step-great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son Michael Schroeder and a brother Norbert Schroeder.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leipsic. He retired from Gerken Material Inc, Ottawa . He was a member of the Leipsic Eagles, Findlay Moose, and a social member of the Leipsic VFW. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, snowmobiling, traveling, carpentry work and especially his retirement life.
Funeral service will begin 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 27, 2015 at Love-Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Leipsic with Fr. Bill Pifher officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Leipsic. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Services will be held today for Vincent L. Siefker, 76, of Saline. He died Monday. Mr. Siefker was born in Shepherd, the son of Joseph and Caroline Siefker. He resided in Saline since 1961. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II. He was owner-operator of Siefker-Drake service stations in Saline from 1961 to 1972, and the Siefker Tire Center since 1972. He is survived by his wife, Edna: children, Carolyn and Carl Stegink of Holland, and Keith and Sandy Siefker of Benicia, Card.; five grandchildren; one great-grandson; a sister, Martha Gilbert of Algonac; a sister-in-law, Lyla: Siefker of California; nieces and, nephews. The 11 a.m. service was to he held at the Robison-Bahnmiller Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ronald Boldman officiating. , Graveside services are at 3 p.m.at St. Vincent DePaul Cemetery in Shepherd. Mrs. EVelyn B. Doepker, 86, of Kalkaska, died Thurs., Oct. 1, 1992, at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center.
Mrs. Doepker had been a resident of Kalkaska since 1939. She was a member of the Kalkaska Church of Christ and the American Legion Auxiliary. She had been employed by Kalkaska Memorial Health Center until her retirement in 1970, and enjoyed reading, crocheting, and her grandchildren.
Mrs. Doepker was born in Charlevoix County on March 2, 1906, the daughter of the late Allen and Margaret Todd Sherk. On May 20, 1940, in Petoskey she was married to Alex F. Doepker who preceded her in death on July 18, 1945.
Surviving are two daughters, Ruth Anne Snyder and Donald Barrett both of Kalkaska; one brother, Charles Sherk of Walloon Lake; one sister, Vivian Cooper of Kalkaska; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Beth Snook and Marguerite Sherk.
Funeral services were held Sat., Oct. 2, 1992, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. E. Dan Johnson and Father Patrick J. Barrett officiated. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Kalkaska.

Gary M. Schafer, 44, of Sebewaing, died unexpectedly Monday, August 7, 2006, at his home. He was born June 20, 1962 in Saginaw, son of Alex "Sonny" and Joanne K. (Doepker) Schafer. He had been self employed. Gary was a graduate of the University of Florida. He served 5 1/2 years in the United States Navy. He was of the Catholic faith. He enjoyed golf, Nascar and was an avid sports fan, especially for the "Gators." Surviving are his parents, Alex "Sonny" Schafer and Joanne Schafer, both of Saginaw; two sisters, Lori (Steven) Sella, of Unionville, and Brenda Schafer, of Sebewaing, his grandmother, Katie Schafer, of Caro; nieces and nephews, Ryan and Tabatha Sella, Nicole Sella, and her special friend, Bryce; Jordan and Tyler Heckroth; great-niece, Laikyn Sella; great-nephew, Alexander Sella; several aunts and uncles; also his two cats, Spook and Scooby. He was preceded in death by one sister, Leanne Schafer. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 11, 2006, at Holy Family Catholic Church. Fr. John Weis will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Saginaw.

Brenda Sue Schafer, age 50, of Sebewaing, passed away peacefully November 1, 2016, at her home with her family by her side.
Brenda was born June 4, 1966, in Saginaw, to Alex and Joanne (Doepker) Schafer. She worked for 25 years as a waitress at Main Street Caf�e in Pigeon, where she was very well liked by her customers. She enjoyed attending her boys sporting events and Trinity United Methodist Church. Her children were the love of her life.
Brenda is survived by her children: Jordan and Tyler Heckroth; mother, Joanne Schafer; sister, Lori (Steve) Sella; niece, Nikki Sella; nephew: Ryan; great nephews: Alexander and Benton Sella; great niece, Laikyn Sella; and the grandparents of her boys, Kathy and Larry Heckroth.
Brenda is preceded in death by her father, Alexander Schafer; brother, Gary Schafer; sister, Leanne Schafer; and grandmother, Catherine Schafer.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 3, 2016, at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing from 2-8pm.
The funeral service will be Friday, November 4, 2016, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Sebewaing. Visitation will begin at the church at 10am until the time of service at 11am.
Burial will be at Demorest Cemetery in Akron Twp.
Memorial donations may be given to Thumb Blue Water Youth for Christ, USA Schools (Boosters) or to the family.
