Gary M. Schafer, 44, of Sebewaing, died unexpectedly Monday, August 7, 2006, at his home. He was born June 20, 1962 in Saginaw, son of Alex "Sonny" and Joanne K. (Doepker) Schafer. He had been self employed. Gary was a graduate of the University of Florida. He served 5 1/2 years in the United States Navy. He was of the Catholic faith. He enjoyed golf, Nascar and was an avid sports fan, especially for the "Gators." Surviving are his parents, Alex "Sonny" Schafer and Joanne Schafer, both of Saginaw; two sisters, Lori (Steven) Sella, of Unionville, and Brenda Schafer, of Sebewaing, his grandmother, Katie Schafer, of Caro; nieces and nephews, Ryan and Tabatha Sella, Nicole Sella, and her special friend, Bryce; Jordan and Tyler Heckroth; great-niece, Laikyn Sella; great-nephew, Alexander Sella; several aunts and uncles; also his two cats, Spook and Scooby. He was preceded in death by one sister, Leanne Schafer. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 11, 2006, at Holy Family Catholic Church. Fr. John Weis will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Saginaw.

Brenda Sue Schafer, age 50, of Sebewaing, passed away peacefully November 1, 2016, at her home with her family by her side.
Brenda was born June 4, 1966, in Saginaw, to Alex and Joanne (Doepker) Schafer. She worked for 25 years as a waitress at Main Street Caf�e in Pigeon, where she was very well liked by her customers. She enjoyed attending her boys sporting events and Trinity United Methodist Church. Her children were the love of her life.
Brenda is survived by her children: Jordan and Tyler Heckroth; mother, Joanne Schafer; sister, Lori (Steve) Sella; niece, Nikki Sella; nephew: Ryan; great nephews: Alexander and Benton Sella; great niece, Laikyn Sella; and the grandparents of her boys, Kathy and Larry Heckroth.
Brenda is preceded in death by her father, Alexander Schafer; brother, Gary Schafer; sister, Leanne Schafer; and grandmother, Catherine Schafer.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 3, 2016, at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing from 2-8pm.
The funeral service will be Friday, November 4, 2016, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Sebewaing. Visitation will begin at the church at 10am until the time of service at 11am.
Burial will be at Demorest Cemetery in Akron Twp.
Memorial donations may be given to Thumb Blue Water Youth for Christ, USA Schools (Boosters) or to the family.

Died unexpectedly Friday, August 5, 2005 at her home following a brief illness. She was born July 30, 1963 in Saginaw, daughter of Alexander "Sonny" and Joanne (Doepker) Schafer Jr. Leanne was a 1981 graduate of Unionville-Sebewaing Area High School. She had been a volunteer at both Convenant Cooper and Harrison gift shops. She played the organ and enjoyed crafts. Surviving, besides her parents, Alex "Sonny" and Joanne Schafer, of Saginaw; are two sisters, one brother, Lori (Steven) Sella, and Brenda Schafer all of Unionville; Gary Schafer, of Caseville; her grandmother, Katie Schafer, of Caro; one niece, three nephews; Jordan & Tyler Heckroth; Ryan (Tabatha) Sella and Nicole Sella; also one grandniece, Laikyn; and one grandnephew, Alexander; several aunts, uncles and cousins; also a special friend, Jeff Harmon, of Kalamazoo; and her two cats, Mickie and MoMo; The Mass of Christian burial will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, August 8, 2005 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Sebewaing. Thomas W. Stack, age 77 of Beaverton, died Wednesday April 27, 2016 at his residence. The son of the late Bernard S. and Irene (Bruskotter) Stack was born in Saginaw on November 4, 1938. Tom was employed with Yellow Trucking until his retirement. He enjoyed putting together model cars of which he had a large collection, working on his 1962 Thunderbird and working outside in his yard. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.
Surviving is his wife of 33 years the former Lucille A. Horr of whom he married in 1983; son, Jeff Stack of Lakeview, Michigan; step daughter, Darlene Anderson of Midland; grandchildren, Chantel Anstine, April Hahn, Danelle Isenhart, Zane Isenhart, Shane Anderson, Teah Webster, Tracey Palacids; 4 great grandchildren; brothers, Dave (Carol) Stack of Bay City, Bill (Bonnie) Stack of Saginaw; sister, Elaine (Bob) Kushon of Saginaw; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents Tom was preceded in death by his son, Thomas William Stack, Jr.; daughter, Robin Hahn; grandson, Dennie.
Funeral services for Tom will take place 1:00 p.m. Monday May 2, 2016 from Wilson MILLER Funeral Home 4210 N. Saginaw Rd Midland with Pastor Dave Vercellino of New Life Vineyard Church officiating. Interment will follow in Midland City Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. William B. Stack, beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2024. Age 83 years. Son of the late Bernard and Irene (Bruskotter) Stack, William was born January 24, 1941 in Saginaw, Michigan. He married Bonnie J. Bellenbaum, his loving wife of 61 years, on June 16, 1962. She survives him. Bill was a machinist at General Motors for 30 years, retiring at the age of 52. After retirement and throughout his whole life, Bill loved to be active. Every day he was out in the yard working on a project from morning to night. Bill and his wife spent their winters in Florida and their summers up north for the past 30 years. He loved to travel and spend time with his loved ones.
Surviving besides his wife Bonnie are his son, Robert Stack; his daughter, Lisa Stack; his grandson, Timothy Stack; and his sister, Elaine Kushon all of whom reside in Saginaw. Bill was preceded in death by two brothers, Tom and David Stack.
Honoring Mr. Stacks wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at the Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. (between Shattuck and McCarty). In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Alzheimers Association or charity of your choice.

Obituary:
David John Stack, age 78, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many, passed away unexpectedly on Friday evening, January 5, 2024 at Ascension St. Mary's in Saginaw. The son of the late Bernard and Irene (Bruskotter) Stack, he was born on April 20, 1945 in Shepherd. Dave graduated from Saginaw High School and served with bravery in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. His military service in Vietnam was marked by acts of bravery and selflessness. He returned home where he went to work at Saginaw Steering Gear, retiring after 31 years. On July 30, 1982 Dave was united in marriage to his true love, the former Carol A. McMahon. Together they formed a great duo not only as a family but professionally too, as owners of Neighborhood Cleaners on N. Union St. and D&C Cleaners. They traveled often throughout the US, Hawaii and Europe, and for the last 20 years have enjoyed spending winters at their home in Florida. Dave enjoyed socializing and making friends wherever he was, especially at the American Legion, the Moose Lodge and the Knights of Columbus. He had a special place in his heart for all of his pets over the years, was a voracious reader and an avid gardener; he always kept his yard in pristine condition. A hard worker his entire life, Dave was a known handyman for his family and friends, always ready to help with any project no matter the size. While seemingly quiet on the outside, he was attentive and very humorous with family and friends, and with a huge heart, he was so very generous.
Dave will be forever remembered by his wife, Carol, and two daughters, Traci (Bryan) Yates and Tanya Weidman. He was "Papa Dave", never missing a game or event, to his grandchildren, Mackenzie (Tom) Rezler, Anthony O'Deay (Breanne), Ashton Yates, Scout Yates, Preston Lindsay, Jr. and Sawyer Yates, and great grandchildren, Rosie, Leonard and Violet Rezler. Dave is also survived by his sister, Elaine Kushon; a brother, Bill (Bonnie) Stack; two sisters-in-law, Beverly McMahon and Mary (Tim) Turney; and several nieces and nephews, and many dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Tom (Lucy) Stack; his father and mother-in-law, Joseph and Martha McMahon; a sister-in-law, Joann (Don) Dzioba; and a brother-in-law, Bob Kushon.
A Celebration of Dave's Life will take place at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Trahan Funeral Chapel, with Military Honors conducted by the U.S. Army and the Bay County Veterans Council. Visiting hours will be on Saturday, January 20th from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. For those who so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family.

Prieskorn, Joanne E., age 87, passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at Tallgrass Creek Senior Living with her loving family by her side. She was born on September 8, 1932 in Jasper Township, Michigan to Doris and Alberta (Bruskotter) Oswald. On August 28, 1965 she married William Prieskorn at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Joanne worked as a Greyhound ticket agent, was a devoted wife and mother, and had a passion for serving others. She was an active church member, served as president of the women�s group and participated in numerous volunteer efforts. Joanne loved to square dance, play cards, host holiday meals and collect owls. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with friends at the Pittsfield Township and Saline Area Senior Centers.
Survivors include her three children, Jerry Cramer, Ronald (Susan) Prieskorn, Janice (Steve) Stark; eight grandchildren, Michael (Kathy) Cramer, Scott (Jennifer) Cramer, Amy (Jason) Forbes, Trevor Prieskorn, Tucker Prieskorn, Lauren Stark, Michael Stark, and Connor Stark; nine great-grandchildren, Chloe, Madison, Jaryd, Draven, Aedan, Gavin, Kaylee, Kella, and Hadley, and one brother Eugene (Rita) Oswald.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and brother, Robert Oswald.
Visitation will be held at Ochalek-Stark Funeral Home in Milan on Sunday, November 17th from 2:00-5:00pm. Funeral service will be at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Ypsilanti on Monday, November 18th at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Marble Park Cemetery in Milan. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer�s Association or Emmanuel Lutheran Church.

William J. Maynard, 75 years, of Sanford died early Tuesday morning at the Mid-Michigan Medical Center after an illness. He was born on January 25, 1942 in Mt. Pleasant, son of the late Dr. William A. and Mildred C. (Bruskotter) Maynard. Bill attended Coleman schools graduating from Coleman High School and Ferris State University with a B.S. degree in Biology. He married the former Carolyn Bigelow on January 22, 1966 at Sanford United Methodist Church. Bill worked for Dow Corning Corporation for 9 years in Chemical Research and also worked for Design Craftsman for 10 years as a Museum Exhibit Engineer. Most recently, he owned his own business called Custom Wood Crafting in Sanford. Bill was an avid reader especially of science fiction and enjoyed cowboy action shooting where he was a member of the Single Action Cowboy Shooting Society and was known as "Red Keg Will". Bill enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren in their sporting events and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed airplanes and flying, woodworking, and hunting. He was a former member of the Jerome Township Fire Department and had been a volunteer at Senior Services.
Bill is survived by his wife Carolyn; two sons William H. (Shelly) Maynard of Sanford and James G. (Sonjia) Maynard of Appleton, WI; grandchildren Zachary Maynard, Haley Maynard, Mallory Maynard, and Logan Maynard. Also surviving is his brother Dr. James E. (Carol) Maynard of Seattle, WA, and brother-in-law Gregory Bigelow of San Francisco.
Funeral services for Bill will take place 2 p.m. Saturday, January 27, 2018 from the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home, 1200 W. Wheeler St. Reverend Lisa Cook of Sanford United Methodist Church will officiate. Bill�s family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and on Saturday from 1 p.m. until the time of service. Cowboys please wear your cowboy attire. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the American Heart Association or the Single Action Shooting Society or The New Mid-Michigan Heart Unit.
