KALIDA - James J. Knueven, 85, of Kalida died at 5:06 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. He was born December 12, 1929 in Kalida to the late Lewis and Amelia (Morman) Knueven. On October 23, 1954 he married Helen Horstman who survives in Kalida.
Also surviving are 3 daughters: Deb Kruse, Karen (Duane) Schroeder and Janet (Tom) Janka all of Kalida; 9 grandchildren: Adam Kruse, Amber (Dave) Farler, Austin (Jenna) Kruse, Lindsay (Brian) Rieman, Dustin (Dannielle) Schroeder, Dane Schroeder, Kari (Adam) Roberts, Rob Janka, and Lauren Janka; 9 great-grandchildren: Brynlee Farler, Noah Farler, Braylon Rieman, Caden Rieman, Westin Rieman, Finn Rieman, Ty Schroeder, Levi Schroeder, and Drew Schroeder; a brother: Aloysius Knueven of Kalida; a sister-in-law: Lucille Knueven of Glandorf; and his dogs: Sadie and Junior. He was preceded in death by a brother: Eugene Knueven and 2 sisters: Josephine Kaufman and Mary Agnes Recker.
Jim was a lifelong farmer. He was a grain operator for Fort Jennings Equity and was a partner in H & M Machine. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Kalida, its Holy Name Society, and the Kalida Knights of Columbus.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 2, 2015 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Kalida with Fr. Mark Hoying officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township where there will be a K of C rosary at 7 p.m. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Hospital or to a charity of the donor's choice.

McCRATE (LACNY), LINDA ANN - Of Onsted, won her heavenly battle against cancer on Saturday, March 26, 2011 surrounded by her family. Born on July 12, 1962, Linda was the wife of David McCrate and is now the Guardian Angel and heavenly protector of her daughters, Claire Exelby McCrate and Alison Mari McCrate; her parents, Frances and Clarence Lacny of Onsted; sisters, Susan Polan of Milford and Mary (Mark) Deming of Tecumseh; brothers, John Lacny of Plymouth, MI and Jim (Kari) Lacny of Zeeland, MI; and several nieces, nephews and cousins she loved dearly. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 31, 2011 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Tecumseh with Father Tom Wasilewski officiating. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery.

Maureen was a member of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, Frankenmuth. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and caring for her grandchildren.

Passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2010. Age 79 years. Gerald Lyle Quellet was born July 18, 1930 in Saginaw to Lyle and Esther (Gratopp) Quellet. They predeceased him. He married Maureen Doepker on June 18, 1955. She survives him. Mr. Quellet was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Saginaw. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He worked for Grey Iron Foundry for 44 years, retiring in 1992. Surviving besides his wife Maureen he leaves 2 sons and 2 daughters and their families; Linda (Stevan) Bronner, Debi (Herschel) Bobbit, Thomas (Heidi) Quellet, David Quellet, Eight grandchildren; Stefanie (Christopher) Furlo and Lindsay Bronner, Sydney and Heath Bobbit, Ryan and Joshua Quellet, Kyle and Kayla Quellet, 3 great grandchildren; Giuliana, Evangelina and Luca Furlo, many nieces and nephews and many other loving family members and friends. Gerald was predeceased by his brother Donald Quellet.
Funeral service will take place 11AM Thursday, March 4, 2010 at the Reitz Herzberg Funeral Home on S. Midland Rd (South M-47). Rev. Paulette Cummings will officiate with entombment to follow at Eastlawn Mausoleum. Military honors under the auspices of American legion Post 439 will be observed at the cemetery chapel. Friends and family are welcome to gather at the funeral home on Wednesday March 3rd from 2pm to 8PM. Memorial offerings may be given to St. John Lutheran Church, or the Michigan Alzheimers Association.
