NOWAK HENRY F. Age 67. November 19. 2007. Beloved husband of Sharon for 43 years. Loving father to both Mark and Jeffery. He is survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Henry passed in the warmth of his home, with the company of his family. His passions in life included. Nature, Farming, Art, Cooking, Literature, Science and "The Blues". He was a teacher of the Arts for many years. His creativity and wit were enjoyed by many. He will be greatly missed. Memorial Visitation at Wm. SullIvan and Son Funeral Home, 705 W. 11 Mile Rd. AFTER MANY YEARS
A Resident of Delphos "Grandma" Schwartnagraber Passed Away.
One by one the pioneers pass from earth to the great beyond. The last to be called from this life is "Grandma" Schwartzengraber, who passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. B. W. Dalk, corner of Pierce and Cleveland streets, early Sunday morning. Mrs. Schwartzengraber has been ill, more or less, all winter, and she was confined to her bed since Jan. 28th, last. Death was due to edema of the lungs.
Mrs. Sohwarizeugraber was born in Hanover, Germany, and when but fifteen years of age came to this country with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lause, on the same steamer with the Rev. Father Bredeick, They arrived in Delphos Oct. 17, 1841, being among the very first to settle here. People familiar with this part of the country at that time know the hardships and privations experienced by the early settlers who lent their untiring assistance in converting the wilderness and swamps into fertile farming communities. Her maiden name was Miss Elizabeth Lause and in Oct. 1850.; she was united in marriage to Joseph Schwartzengraber; by the Rev. Fr. Bredeick. Soon after their marriage, Mr. Schwartzengraber started the first brewery in Delphos, the plant being located at the corner of Second and Pierce streets, where the J. C. Jettinghoff grocery store, now is. After remaining here for about ten years they moved to a farm about one mile south of Delphos, where they resided continually until the death of Mr. Schwartzengraber 21 years ago last November. After the death of her husband Mrs. Schwartzengraber remained on the farm until about ten years ago when she came to Delphos and had since that time been making her home with her daughter, Mrs. B. W. Dalk. Six children were born to them, two dying in infancy, and one, Mrs. Clara Doepker, passed away 25 years ago leaving two sons. The children living are R. B. and F. J. Schwartzengraber and Mrs. B, W. Dalk. She is also survived by one sister, Mrs Clara Masker, of Delphos, and four grandchildren and one great -grandchild. Deceased was years, 11 months and 11 days old at the time of her demise. She was a devout member of the Catholic church and was affiliated with the various church societies, such as the Altar Society, Sacred Heart League, Infant Jesus Society and St. Elizabeth Society.
The funeral was held from St. John's Catholic church Wednesday morning at 8 o'clock, sun time, and the remains were interred in the East Side cemetery beside those of her husband.

Andrew Delynn Page, 72, of Norman Park, died Thursday, November 26, 2020 at his home.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, November 29, 2020 in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home with Rev. Brad McVae officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Born on December 16, 1947 in Port St. Joe, Florida, he was the son of the late David Sadler and Clyde and Nettie Mae Quick Page. He worked as an over the road truck driver, a retiree of The United States Navy, and was of the Christian Faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ernest Page, Wayne Page, and Buddy Sadler.
Mr. Page is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca Rhames Baker Page of Norman Park; children, Diana Lynn and Frank Barbato of Altha, FL, Kristy Page of Fitchburg, Mass, Cathrine and Mike Abdulmuhsen of Sumatra, FL, Lindsey Page of Windham, Maine, Derek Baker and wife Kelly of Greer, SC, and Karen Tyler and husband Darren of Norman Park; 10 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; brother, Donald Page and wife Revena "Binky" of Eastpoint, FL; and sisters, Ellen Porter and husband Phil of Macon and Susan Parker and husband Bill of Atlanta.

W. Bigelow Had Cokirful Early Life in Area
Rites Are Held for Former Arcada Road Official William A; Bigelow, 88, of Arcada township, who had a colorful background in the "lumberjack" era, died at Rockafellow convalescent home, Alma, Sunday afternoon. He had been a patient there the past three months, and had been in poor health about six months. Mr.'Bigelow was born near Car-son City, February 3, 1867, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Ebenezer Bigelow. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at First Methodist Church. The Rev. Charles B. Hahn officiated and burial was in Riverside cemetery. He formerly was a highway commissioner in Arcada township and a director and moderator of Graham school. He had lived on the present farm for 45 years. It is located three miles west and three miles south of Alma. Practically a lifelong resident of Gratiot county, Mr: Bigelow worked as a lumberjack in the north woods and also was employed by the late Ammi W. Wright and the late E. H. Doane for many years. Mrs. Bigelow died November 18, 1953. The July 3 prior to her death they had been married 64 years. He is survived by 13 children, as follows: Glen, of Breckenridge; Roy and Harold, Lansing; Oral, Earl and Carl, Alma; Day and Charles, St. Louis; William, jr., Merrill; Howard, Elwell; Donad, Stanton; Robert, Vestaburg; and Mrs Irwin Kelley, of. Grand Rapids. There are 54 grandchildren andl '37 great, grandchildren. Grandsons acted as pallbearers and the funeral arrangements Were in charge of Moody funeral home.

Church Rites for Mrs. Bigelow, Mother of 13
Long Time Arcada Township Resident Succumbs to Illness
Funeral services for Mrs. Ida B. Bigelow, 79, were held at First Methodist Church Saturday afternoon, with burial in Riverside cemetery. Mother of 13 children and a long time Arcada township resident, Mrs. Bigelow died Wednesday, November 18, after a long illness. Mrs. Bigelow was born in Eaton county, October 6, 1874, daughter of Mr. and Mrs: John Day. She was married in Arcada township, July 3, 1889, 64 years ago, and they had since made their home there. Surviving are the husband, William; 12 sons, Glen, of Breckenridge; Roy and Harold, of Lansing; Oral and Earl, of Alma; Gay and Charles, of St. Louis; William, jr.. of Merrill; Howard, of Elwell; Donald, of Stanton; Carl of Alma, and Robert of Vesta- burg. There is one daughter, Mrs. Irwin Kelley, of Grand Rapids; she also leaves a sister, Mrs. Ed Wolfe, of rural Alma. There are 54 grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren. Dr. Claude Dicks of Alma College officiated for the funeral and rites on Saturday morning. The body rested at Moody funeral home until the time of the rites on Saturday morning.

Richard Dean "Nick" Bigelow
Age 88, of Vestaburg, passed away Friday, April 13, 2018 at Masonic Pathways in Alma.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at 2 pm at the Lux-Moody-Wolfel Funeral Home, Alma with Pastor George Showers officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5 to 8 pm and Wednesday from 1 pm until time of service. Interment will follow at Richland Township Cemetery, Vestaburg.
Nick was born January 14, 1930 in Ingham County, the son of Howard and Marcella (Doepker) Bigelow. He graduated with the class of 1948 at Alma High School, where he earned a school letter in FFA and also served as a State FFA Officer. Nick was known for raising pigs while in high school and continued to do so for several more years. On February 7, 1948 he married Colleen (Throop) Bigelow. They were married 64 years. Nick worked a number of years for the Vestaburg Silo Company. Then after 36 years with the Wolverine Power Supply Company as plant supervisor, he retired in 1992. Nick enjoyed deer camp in the Upper Peninsula near Ontonagon, wintering in Zephyrhills, Florida, tending to his garden and lawn and was an avid Detroit Tigers fan. He was a trustee on the Richland Township Board, member of the Vestaburg Lions Club, coached little league (he was instrumental in starting this team in Vestaburg) and pony league and supported his children and grandchildren in their school and sporting events. He was a compassionate man regarding his family and community, who was very proud to say, he was from Vestaburg. He was a loyal father and friend and would lend a helping hand whenever needed. He was named a Vestaburg Pioneer during the 2013 Vestaburg Community Days.
Nick is survived by his children, Steven (Marguerite) Bigelow of Vestaburg, Micheal (Jane) Bigelow of Dorr, Cheryl (Don) Rice of Rudyard and Richard "Rich" (Denise) Bigelow of Vestaburg, grandchildren, Jason, Erin, Robert, Mike, Nick, Luke, Tamara, Heath, great-grandchildren, Amber, Mike, Lydee, Brody, Colleen, Elise, Noah, Preston, Owen, Joel, Reese, Harper and a great great granddaughter Addelyn. Also siblings Ida, Wanda, Donelda, Phyllis and Ed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Colleen, brothers Ken, Phil and sister Nancy.
In lieu of flowers and because of Nick�s passion for baseball, please consider memorial contributions to the Vestaburg Youth League or the Vestaburg Community School Athletic Department. The family would like to extend appreciation to Great Lakes Hospice and the Masonic Pathways for their compassionate care.
