Robert James 72 09/30/1938 01/20/2011 Robert "Bob" Black was born a Buckeye in Delaware, Ohio, Sept. 30, 1938, minutes before his twin sister. After high school graduation, he ventured into the world of heavy equipment work, eventually be-coming a factory representative and regional manager for con-struction heavy equipment manu-facturers. In this trade, he developed a love of travel and a quick wit. His life touched many people. Bob leaves behind his wife, Ruth; blended family members, Dick, Chuck (Helen), Rick, Diana, Debra (Glen) and their families; former wife, Jean; daughters, Samantha (Ken), Melissa and Jolene; five grandchildren; siblings, Sandy of Florida and Ed of Ohio; and many extended family members and friends. A celebration of Bob's life will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011, in Tualatin Heritage Center, 8700 S.W. Sweek Drive, Tualatin, OR 97062. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation in Bob's name to your favorite charity.

JOSEPH JAMES ROBERTS
June 13, 1930
Joseph James Roberts, son of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Roberts, was born April 16, 1911 and died June 13, 1930. Besides his parents he is survived by seven sisters and four brothers: Mrs. Raymond Moeller of Saginaw, Sister Vincent de Paul of Grand Rapids, Mrs. N. Doepker of Shepherd, Mrs. Harry Tripp of Midland, William Roberts of Shepherd and Ceceila, Frances, Alfred, Mathew, Hanoia and Martin, who are at home.
The funeral was held from St. Vincent de Paul church Monday morning with a requiem solemn high mass. The Rev. Father Dark of Shepherd celebrant. Rev. J. W. McNell of Saginaw deacon, Rev. L. J. Farquharson of Grand Rapids, sub deacon; Rev. J. R. Flannery of Grand Rapids, master of ceremonies.
Those from out of town who attended the funeral were: Sister Victor and Sister Leonard of Grand Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Sasse, Mr. and Mrs. Alex Thorpe, Mr and Mrs. Frank Sasse, Mrs. Otto Bradden, Fred Sasse, Mrs. Sadie Bunting, all of Midland; Mr. and Mrs. George Gilmore and James Kavanaugh of Owosso and Mr. and Mrs. Fanning of Harrison.

Cecilia Travis Passed Away Monday At Carson City Hospital (1963)
Cecelia Elizabeth Travis, 50, wife of Byron Travis of Shepherd passed away Monday October 14 at Carson City Hospital. Funeral services will take place Thursday 10:00 a.m. in St Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Shepherd with Father Edward Roczen offering the Holy Mass.
The Rosary will be said Wednesday evening at 7:30 at Garber Funeral Home in Shepherd and burial will be in St Vincent de Paul Cemetery.
Mrs. Travis was born in Shepherd March 2, 1913 and had spent most of her life here. She was interested in many activities including the Rosary Altar Society of Shepherd, various Extension groups such as Coe-Ettes, and Meet A While Clubs and had been a leader in many 4-H activities recently receiving her 20 year diamond award as a 4-H Club leader. She had been a substitute rural mail carrier for the Shepherd post office.
Besides her husband, Byron, Mrs. Travis leaves four sons, Richard, Patrick, Joseph and John; three daughters; Mrs. Janet Bissell, Mary and Gloriann all of Shepherd; her mother Mrs. Bertha Roberts, Shepherd, six sisters; Mrs. Raymond Moeller of Saginaw; Sister Vincent De Paul of Grand Rapids, Mrs. Neil Doepker of Saginaw, Mrs. Harry Tripp of Shepherd, Mrs. Raymond Jennings of Grand Rapids; Mrs. Harold Pfleuger of San Joe, California; three brothers, William Roberta of Saginaw; Matthew Roberts of Midland and Marion Roberts of Sterling.
Mrs. Travis also leaves 12 grandchildren; Christina, Craig, Kevin and Scott of Holland; James and Timothy of Mt Pleasant; Paige, Geoffery, Kelly, Martin, Neal and Maureen of Shepherd; eighty one nieces and nephews and seventy three grand nieces and nephews.
