Burial headstone, Mallett Cemetery, New Boston, Wayne, MIObituary:
Mr. & Mrs. Charles P. LeBlanc, residents of Sumpter township, were both instantly killed Sunday night, when the rig in which they were driving was struck by a Detroit, Monroe & Toledo electric car at the Goddard road crossing in Ecorse township.
The couple had visited Ecorse to call on their daughter, Mrs. E.J. Montie, Jr. and were on their way to the home of another daughter, Mrs. George Drouillard, when the accident occurred.
One section of the train had passed, and Mr. LeBlanc evidently failed to notice that a second section was coming.
Dr. W.C. Lambert, who was summoned, found that both had been killed instantly. Mr. LeBlanc's skull was fractured, and his wife's neck was broken.
The bodies were brought to H.F. Thon's undertaking rooms in this city, and later taken to the LeBlanc home near New Boston. A double funeral was held at the Catholic church in New Boston yesterday morning, twelve nephews acting as pallbearers.
