Funeral services for Emerson B. Archer, 55, who died suddenly Tuesday night, will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in Culley's Chapel with burial to follow in Roselawn Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited at 8 Friday night in Culley's chapel. The Rev. Patrick Madden will officiate at funeral services. Archer, a native of Alma, Mich., had lived in Tallahassee since 1948. He was an X-ray technician at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital and was a senior employee of that institution. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Valita D. Archer; two daughters, Mrs. John Scimone of Pensacola and Miss Carol Archer of Tallahassee; his mother, Mrs. A. J. Archer of Lansing, Mich.; a brother, John Archer of Lansing; four sisters, Mrs. Elmore Vanderheide of Detroit; Mrs. Russell Whiton of Detroit; Mrs. Ida Pincomb of Ypsilanti, Mich., and Mfrs. Frank Stelle of Lansing. Pallbearers will be Ralph Lipscomb, Joe Schuck, Harry Smith, Herschel Blount, John Williams and L. C. Stephens.

LAKELAND John Francesca Scimone, 44, 631 Young Place, died Monday at Lakeland General Hospital.
A native of Medford, Mass., he came here from Mobile, Ala., 12 years ago. Mr. Scimone worked for the postal service and belonged to St. Joseph's Catholic Church. He founded the Lakeland Runners Club and was a board member of the Polk County Youth Soccer League. He coached the Celtics Soccer Team. He was a veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Scimone, Lakeland; his father, Chico Scimone, Taormina, Sicily; his mother, Madeline Bosse, Boston, Mass.; his sons, John Thomas Scimone, Lakeland, Cliff Scimone, Boston, Mass. and Frank Scimone, Syracuse, N.Y.; his daughter, Julie Ann Scimone, Lakeland; and his half-brother, Gionfranco Scimone, Spain.

She is the daughter of the late John F. Scimone. The wedding is Feb. 10. She graduated from Kathleen High School, Lakeland, and from Florida State University, Tallahassee. He graduated from Winter Park High School, Winter Park, and from the University of Central Florida, Orlando.

Obituary:
It is with a heavy heart that the family announces that Carol Barwick passed away peacefully March 4,2025. Carol was a big personality in a small package. She was courageous, inspirational, kind, funny, full of joy, and most of the time, a force to be reckoned with. She lived her life showing us what can be accomplished with determination and persistence.
She is predeceased by her loving husband of 41 years Terry Barwick, and son Matthew Barwick.
She is survived by three children, Elizabeth Bennett, Joseph Barwick and Mary Cross. Six grandchildren, Micheal Lavoie, Terry (TJ) Cross, Zachary Barwick, Shelby Barwick, Logan Barwick, Shane May. And two great grandchildren Emma Barwick and Easton Barwick.
A viewing is scheduled for Tuesday March 11th at Faith Chapel Funeral home on Beverly Parkway from 9-10am followed by a small graveside service at West Sopchoppy Cemetery.
