OTTAWA ATTORNEY CLAIMED BY DEATH
Edward F. Wieser, 88, Was Former State Senator; Last Rites Monday
OTTAWA. June 13 - Edward F Wieser, 66. a former Ohio senator, died at 3 p. m. Friday in his home here after a lengthy illness from a heart ailment.
Mr. Wieser served in the Ohio senate in 1913 and 1914. He was a former solicitor of Ottawa, a member of the Putnam county Bar association and had practiced law in Ottawa for 40 years. He also was a member of the Ottawa Knights of Columbus, Mr. Wieser was born Juiy 14, 1880, in Coldwater to Mr. and Mrs. August Wieser. He and Agnes Krieger were married in Ottawa Nov, 10, 1909, and she survives.
Also surviving are a daughter Mks Mary Helen Wieser. at home; one sister, Mrs. Gertrude Limbacher, Akron, and one brother, August Wieser. Ottawa.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a. m. Monday Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic church of which he was a member. Burial will be made in the church cemetery.

Thirty third District
The 33rd Senatorial District of Ohio was represented in the 80th General Assembly by a young lawyer whose residence is Ottawa Putnam County. The district is composed of Fulton Hancock Henry Putnam and Wood Counties and has been within recent years safely Democratic.
Edward F Wieser was born at Coldwater Mercer County Ohio July 14th 1880. His father August C Wieser was born in Germany. Edward received his education in the public schools at Coldwater and at Crawfis College in Putnam County Ohio.
He studied law with Watts and Moore Ottawa Ohio was admitted to the bar in 1903 and at once commenced the practice of his profession at Ottawa.
In the year 1909 Mr Wieser was united in marriage with Miss Agnes A Krieger of Ottawa Ohio.
Senator Wieser has never held any other public office except that of Justice of the Peace at Ottawa. At the regular session of the 80th General Assembly of Ohio Senator Wieser was author of a bill providing for indeterminate penitentiary sentences and a bill authorizing the State Board of Administration to make rules for the parole of prisoners in the State Penitentiary both of which became laws. He was also author of Senate Bill No 149 which provides for validating petitions contracts bonds and assessments under various sections of the General Code.
Senator Wieser was appointed a member of a joint committee of the House and Senate to provide a site for a new Slate office building. Elected as a Democrat he supported the State Administration Measures of Legislation and was generally progressive.
Senator Wieser served as Chairman of the Senate Committee on County Affairs and was a member of the following committees viz Agriculture Claims Drainage and Irrigation Federal Relations Judiciary Privileges and Elections Public Utilities and Taxation.

Edward F Wieser of Ottawa was born at Coldwater July 14 1880 and was educated in the public schools at Coldwater and Crawfis college. He was admitted to the bar in 1903 and has since been engaged in his profession at Ottawa. Senator Wieser never held any public office except that of justice of the peace before being elected to the Ohio Senate in 1912. Senator Wieser is a staunch democrat believing firmly in the principles of Jefferson and Jackson. He advocates simplicity in private and public life and a square deal to all.

Funeral to Be Held For Mary Doopkor, 74
OTTAWA, July 24
Marl Magdalena Doopker, 74, widow of Prank Doopher, died at her house on West Main street late Theaday evening, following an illness which lasted several years. Her husband preceded her in death 14 years ago. She spent the greater part of her life in and around Glandort. She was the daughter of John Henry and Theresia Lefken.
Surviving relatives are her 13 children: Mrs. William Westrick. Mrs. Ben Thompson, August Doepker, Mrs. George Shulien, Mrs. Jack Jones and Walter Doepker, all of Ottawa; Harry Deopher, of Glandorf: Pauline Doepker, of Toledo; Mrs Clyde Cook, of Lima: Mrs. Homer Light, of Pandora: Mrs, Joseph Schmenk and Mrs. Colletta Gatske. of Leipsic. One daughter, Verona, preceded her in death about 13 years ago.
Funeral services will he held in Sts Peter and Paul church, Friday morning at nine o'clock and burial will he made In the Catholic cemetery at Glandorf.

OTTAWA - Mrs. Loretta Jones, 75, 355 W. Second St., Ottawa, died at 3:10 p.m, today in Ottawa.
She was born May 9, 1898, in Glandorf, to Frank and Magdelena (Lefken) Doepker. She married Jackson A. Jones in 1926, arid he died in July 1969.
Surviving are three grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Leona Schenk, Lima; Mrs. Cornelia Schmenk, rural Cloverdale; Mrs. J.A. Gatzke, Ottawa; a brother Walter, Ottawa.
Mrs. Jones was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa, and the Rosary Altar Society.
Funeral Mass will be said at 10:30 am). Friday at the church, the Rev. Werner Verhoff officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be after 7 p.m. today at McCrate Funeral Home, Ottawa, A Scripture reading will be at 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

OTTAWA - Mrs. Coletta Gatzke, 75, 896 W. Main St., Ottawa, died at 8 a.m. Tuesday in St. Rita's Hospital, Lima.
She was born in Glandlorf, April 7, 1900, to Frank and Magdalen (Lefken) Doepker. She Married J.A. Gatzke, September 1927, and he survives.
Also surviving are a son, Fred, Columbus; three grandchildren: four great-grandchildren; a brother, Walter, Ottawa two sisters, Mrs. Cornelia Schmenk, Cldverdale; Mrs. Leona Schenk, Lima.
Mrs. Gatzke was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa, where Mass of the Resurrection will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, the Rev. Werner Verhoff officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation is after 2 p.m, today in McCrate Funeral Home, Ottawa, where there will be a scripture reading service at 8 p. n. today.

GLANDORF - Pauline Doepker, 76, a former resident of Glandorf, died at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in a Toledo hospital.
Born in Glandorf, she was the daughter of Frank and Magdalena Doepker.
Surviving are sisters, Mrs.Frank (Leona) Schenk. Lima; Mrs. Joe (Cornelia) Schmenk, Leipsic; Mrs. Jack (Loretta) Jones, Ottawa; and Mrs. J. A. (Colletta) Gatzke, Ottawa; and brothers Walter and August, both of Ottawa. Five sisters and a brother are deceased.
Services are at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Sts. Peter and Paul Church. Ottawa. The Rev. Florian Hartke will officiate with burial in St. John's Cemetery, Glandorf.

CORNELLI A, SCHMENK
CLOVERDALE - Cornelia A. Schmenk, 86, of Route 1, Cloverdale, and formerly of Leipsic, died at 10:50 a,.m. Thursday at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
She was born on Aug. 26, 1895, in Glandorf to Frank and Madeline Doepker. She married Joseph Schmenk in 1923, and he died in 1960.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Anna MaeJanka, Cloverdale; four grandchildren; and a brother, Walter Doepker, Ottawa.
Mrs. Schmenk was a member of St. Barbara's Catholic Church in Cloverdale, and the Altar Rosary Sodality.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Herman Scherger, officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, near Leipsic.
Visitation will be held after 2 p.m. today at McCrate-Love Funeral Home, Ottawa, where a scripture service will be held at 7:30 p.m today.
