Obituary:
Dennis F. Nelson, 72, of Kingston, MI passed away Sunday, June 5, 2022 at United Hospice Services of Marlette Regional Hospital.
Dennis was born March 31, 1950 in Caro, MI to the late Leslie Bowen and Cecelia (McRae) Nelson. He graduated from Kingston High School with the Class of 1968. Dennis married Nancy Chappel on May 2, 1970 in Clifford, MI. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp. Dennis worked as a machine operator for General Motors for 34 years before retiring in 2001, and he was also a yardman for Tri-County Equipment. He was a member of United Methodist Church. Dennis was a competitive body builder and power lifter. He enjoyed cutting wood, his German Shepherds, watching his grandchildren�s sporting events.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 52 years, Nancy Nelson; his daughter, Shari (Justin Boyl) Blonde; two grandchildren, Quentin (Meredith Carpenter) Blonde and Courtney Blonde; four step-grandchildren, Hannah, Wesley, Brennen and Faith Boyl; two brothers, Theodore (Karen) Nelson and Dale (Diana) Nelson; two sisters-in-law, Sally (Don Rich) Boyne and Connie (Ed) Harrison; one brother-in-law, Ralph (Colinda) Chappel; several favorite nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Dennis was preceded in death by his two sisters, Rosalyn Thompson and Betty (Jack) Kiehl; and one brother, Raymond Nelson.
The Family will receive visitors from 11 AM - 2 PM on Friday, June 17, 2022 at Marsh Funeral Chapel in Marlette, MI.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 PM on Friday, June 17, 2022 at Marsh Funeral Chapel in Marlette, MI.
Memorial contributions may be made to United Hospice Service of Marlette Regional Hospital or the Silverwood United Methodist Church at 2750 Clifford Road, Clifford, MI 48760.

METCALF, GUS RAY of Jackson, passed away suddenly on Friday, March 16, 2007 at the age of 63. He will be remembered by his wife, Janie, of 29 years; six children, Michelle, Joanie (Tim) Humminga, Melissa (Tim) Olds, Kenny (Stephanie) Smith, Tommy Smith, Theresa Metcalf (Archie Brown Ill); several grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; several siblings; and many nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place and a private family memorial service will be held at the funeral home. The family will receive friends at the Eagles FOE 612, 301 Detroit St., at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, March 23, 2007. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family to assist with final expenses.

He was born in Nashville and was owner-operator of the Barve Excavating Co. He attended the Algansee Church. Surviiving are his wife. the former Bonnie DeLap: sons. Richard and James Barve. both of Quincy: a daughter. Mrs. Richard (Mickey) Roberts of Reading: three grandchildren. his father William Barve of Coldwater: a sister. Bonnie J. Moore, age 87, of Coldwater, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility, Coldwater, Michigan.
Bonnie was born on April 2, 1931, in Sioux City, Iowa.
She married Stewart Barve on February 20, 1948, he preceded her in death on November 10, 1977. Bonnie later remarried to Fred Moore on December 17, 1982 in Coldwater, Michigan.
She loved baking, cooking, mowing the yard, being outdoors, and the Lord.
Survivors include her husband, Fred Moore of Coldwater, Michigan, her children, Richard (Evelyn) Barve of Quincy, Michigan, and James (Lee) Barve, both of Quincy, Michigan, and Mickey (Richard) Roberts of Hudson, Florida, her step-children, Janice (Tom) Furtaw of DeWitt, Michigan, Dave (Nancy) Moore of Coldwater, Michigan, Sham (Charles Morrill) Moore of Vicksburg, Michigan, and Bradley (Michelle) Moore of Quincy, Michigan, twenty grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, Charles Fred and Melva DeLap, a son, Stephen Barve, a grand-daughter, Heather Furr, a grandson, Kyle Barve, two sisters, Gloria Miller, and Bev Parker, and a brother, Richard DeLap.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 pm Friday, April 6, 2018 at Beams Funeral Home, Fremont, Indiana, with Pastor Herbert Warner officiating.
Visitation will be held prior to the services from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Friday at Beams Funeral Home.
Burial will follow services at Lester Cemetery, Branch County, Michigan.
Memorials in her memory are requested in care of the family.
