Obituary:
Linda Newman, age 55, of Blanchard, passed away Saturday morning, April 14, 2001, at Central Michigan Community Hospital in Mt. Pleasant.
She was born July 23, 1945 in Sheridan to Otto and Dorothy Smith Ashbaugh.
She is survived by her previous husband and ever-loving friend, James Newman of Weidman; her children, James Newman Jr. of Blanchard, Jerry Newman of Boyne Falls, Kristine Newman of Blanchard, and Gary Newman of Blanchard; five grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Lou Simmons of Stanton, Ruth Ann Moyer of Boyne City; two brothers, David Ashbaugh of Six Lakes, and Gary Ashbaugh of Blanchard. She will be dearly missed by her beloved dog, Scruffy.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Scott Duane, parents, a sister Dixie Clark, and a special friend Leonard Eldred.
Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, April 18, 2001, at 11:00am at Stebbins- McCullough Chapel in Edmore, with Rev. Rolla Timmons officiating. Interment will be in Pine River Cemetery in Blanchard.

DAY, LONIE D., Mason, age 52, died Monday. September 12, 1994. He was born December 6, 1941 in Mason and had been a resident of the Mason area all of his life. Lonie served in the U.S. Air Force 1960 thru 1964. He was last employed with Dennis Trailer Sales of Lansing. Surviving are his wife, Carol; 5 daughters, Robin (Mark) Dible of Grand Rapids, Tracy (Clifford) Loveberry of Mt. Pleasant; Aimee (Brett) Audett of Sturgis, Angela (Troy) Bontrager and Michelle Pletcher, both of Indiana; 4 sons, Scott Day of Lansing, Matthew (Tracey) Day of Three Rivers, Brian Pletcher and Jason Pletcher, both of Indiana; his father, L.J. (Jeanne) Day of Mason; 14 grandchilden; 3 brothers, Tom (Sharon) Day of Williamston, Joel Day and John Flintoff, both of Mason; and 1 sister, Shelly Brevard of Holland. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, September 15th at the Gorsline-Runciman Co. Ball-Dunn Chapel, Mason, with The Rev. Daniel R. Shinabarger, Pastor of Central Free Methodist Church of Lansing and The Rev. Dr. David L. Beck, Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Mason officiating. Interment in Maple Grove Cemetery, Mason. Friends may call at the Chapel beginning 7 p.m. Tuesday evening where the family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday.
