Obituary:
Joshua Andrew Scott Davis, of Shepherd Michigan, age 33 years old, was called home to Heaven after losing his life in a tragic automobile accident on October 17, 2022.
Joshua is survived by his Loving fiance, Carrie Bachelder of Shepherd: daughter Aerith Rose-Davis of Shepherd; son, Elias Davis of Shepherd; father, Darrin (Deb) Davis of Merrill and Debs son Brandon (Erika Power) Donaghy of Shields; mother, Charlene (Matt) Dengler of Shepherd; siblings, Jacob (Dustin Schuch) Davis of Freeland, Jack Davis of Mt Pleasant, Zac Montague of Gladwin, Alyssa (Alex Robertson) Dengler of East Lansing, and Tristan Dengler of Gladwin; grandmother, Joyce Davis of Shepherd; grandparents, Don and Linda Hoffman of Gladwin; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Joshua was born on June 8, 1989, in Alma, Michigan. Joshua grew up in Shepherd and was a 2007 graduate of Shepherd High School. During his time in Shepherd schools, he was involved in basketball, track, choir, and drama. An important part of his adolescence was spent in youth group through Mt Pleasant First Church of the Nazarene. Between school and youth group Joshua was blessed to have made lots of friends and made lots of wonderful memories. After high school, Joshua joined the work force and held a variety of jobs throughout the years. He was currently employed at Pinnacle Cabinet Co and enjoyed the time he was employed there.
Joshua was very family oriented and was a proud father to Aerith and Elias. Joshuas face would light up, his eyes would twinkle, and he would get a big ol grin anytime he would talk about those children of his. Of course, his family would not be complete without his fiance Carrie Bachelder. Carrie was the love of his life and the mother of his son. Joshua and Carrie were inseparable, and it was evident that they were each others person. The love they shared will endure into eternity. Along with being a family guy, Joshua was always quick with a joke or a witty, quirky remark. He had a sense of humor the size of Texas and was always looking for ways to pull a prank on a person. Some of you reading this may even have been subject to those pranks! Joshuas laughter and smile were contagious, and he was gifted with the ability to cheer up the grumpiest of people. It was a true talent! Part of his quirkiness was his trademark silly hats and t-shirts that he was known to wear. This was all part of his M.O. in his attempt to make the world a happier place. Joshua was also an avid reader, loved to play video games-especially Pokemon- and learn new things regularly. Joshua was compassionate, kind, loyal, and had a love of music and playing his beloved guitar. Above all, Joshua had a love for the Lord, and we take comfort in knowing that he is now in the embrace of our Heavenly Father.
Joshua was welcomed to Heaven by his maternal grandmother Dorothy VanHorn whom he always had a very special bond with, his maternal grandfather Wayne VanHorn, and his paternal grandfather Jack Davis. Also waiting loyally for Joshua at the gates of Heaven were his dogs Biscuit and Hermione whom Joshua had loved fiercely while they were here on Earth with him.
Cremation has taken place and arrangements are being handled by the Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home. A memorial service for Joshua will be held at the MP Nazarene church which is located at 1980 S. Lincoln Rd, Mt. Pleasant Michigan, 48858. The memorial will be held on October 27, 2022, with visitation starting at 11am and the service starting at 1pm. The memorial service will be officiated by Pastor Jon Croft. A luncheon will be held immediately after the service at the church.
