THOMAS, JEAN P. , DeWitt, formerly of Okemos Born March 4, 1916 in Wakeman, OH died November 26, 2001, at the age of 85. Mrs. Thomas was a talented singer having attended the University of Georgia on a voice scholarship. She resided in Okemos from 1966-1972 before moving to DeWitt. Mrs. Thomas was a former teacher, Sunday School Teacher, Girl Scout Leader, and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was preceded in death by her husband. Charles, and 1 brother. Thurman J. Peabody. Surviving are 1 daughter. Sally T. (William J.) Gorman of DeWitt; 1 son, Charles 0. (Lynn) Thomas of Lakewood. NY, 4 grandchildren, Adam Gorman and Jessica, Marie, and Stephanie Thomas. Graveside Services will be held Friday, November 30, at 1 p.m. in East Townsend Cemetery, Townsend, OH. There will be no visitation. Those desiring may make contributions to the Capital Area Humane Society, 7095 W. Grand River Ave., Lansing, MI 48906, in memory of Mrs. Thomas. The family is being served by the Gorsline-Runciman Co. DeWitt Chapel, DeWitt.
