Furlo Louis Joseph [Male] b. 17 AUG 1928 Saginaw, MI - d. 22 APR 2020 Saginaw, MI

Obituary:
SAGINAW, MI - After a more than a 60-year career with Saginaw Countys Morley Companies Inc., Chairman Louis J. Furlo Sr. has died, company officials announced late Wednesday, April 22. He was 91.
"It is not length of life, but depth of life, said poet Ralph Waldo Emerson. I am immensely grateful to have had both," begins Furlos obituary, which he penned. "Today, April 22, 2020, after 91 years of life, I make my way to meet my God. As I go, it is my sincere wish to express my eternal love and admiration for those whove touched me so very deeply along the way."
Furlo was born on Aug. 17, 1928, to parents Pasquale and Rosaria Furlo, nee Cosco. He was married to his wife, Veronica Furlo, nee Hall, for 56 years, who survives him.
He began his career with Morley, now Saginaw Countys third largest employer, in the 1950s. Saginaw Township-based Morley was founded in 1863 as a hardware distributor serving a thriving lumber industry. Today, Morley offers a wide range of business services, including business process outsourcing, meetings and incentives, and exhibits and displays.
Furlo later became president and CEO of the company and, in the early 1980s, acquired the firm. His sons Paul Furlo, Chris Furlo and Louis Furlo Jr. would later own and manage the firm together.
"To my Morley Family: I started my Morley career in 1957, and was fortunate enough to earn my living doing what I loved. I wish the same for all of you," the senior Furlo wrote. "Your ceaseless spirit of service inspires me. You never give in. It has been my privilege to serve along with you, and in more recent years, to keep you all in my prayers as I witnessed your tremendous personal and professional growth."
Louis Furlo Sr. attended St. Dominic Parish in Saginaw and St. Edward Parish in Palm Beach, Florida, and was involved with several organizations, including Legatus, Field Neurosciences Institute, then-Citizens Bank, now Huntington Bank, Drug Free America-Right Now, and the Northwood University Board of Trustees, according to his obituary.
In addition to his wife, Louis Furlo Sr. is survived by his sons, Louis (Barbara) Furlo of Wilton, Connecticut, Paul (Clare) Furlo of Saginaw, and Chris (Stefanie) Furlo of Palm Beach, Florida, and 10 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents and two brothers, Anthony and Ralph.
Honoring Louis Furlos Sr.'s wishes, the family will forego any formal visitation or wake and hold Mass as soon as it is safe to do so.
In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider donations to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital or a random act of kindness for someone in need.
