Obituary:
EAST BARRE - Ruth K. MacAskill, 96, a longtime East Barre resident, died Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at the Woodridge Nursing Home in Berlin.

Born Oct. 1, 1915, in Thetford, she was the daughter of John and Glenn Cora (Staples) Kinsman. She attended Thetford Elementary School and graduated from Thetford Academy in 1931. She went on to obtain her teaching certificate from Lyndon Normal School and began her teaching career. She taught at the Edward's School in Williamstown, and later in Orange, Cookeville, and for several years in Washington.

Ruth was married to Clifford S. MacAskill. Following their marriage, they made their home in Connecticut and Massachusetts before moving to Graniteville in 1952, and later moved to East Barre. He died Feb. 2, 1957.
She was a member of the East Barre Congregational Church where she was a Sunday school teacher and taught Bible school. Her other memberships included the Teachers' Association, Delta Kappa Gamma and the Green Hills Homemakers Club.
An avid reader, Ruth enjoyed reading on her Kindle and doing crossword puzzles. She also took great pleasure in traveling. The high points of her travels were visiting the Great Wall of China, attending the Follies in Paris, visiting Germany and England, and cruises to Alaska and the Caribbean.
She is survived by her daughter, Margaret Wilson, and her husband, Ken, of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; three sons, Clifford MacAskill and his wife, Susan, of East Barre, Malcolm MacAskill and his wife, Patty, of Websterville, and Stephen MacAskill and his wife, Valerie, of Bristol, Conn.; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson; a sister, Margaret Wachs, of Strafford, Conn.; several nieces and nephews.
A brother, John Kinsman, and three sisters, Gretchen Fillmore, Hester MacDonald and Hildegard Kinsman, predeceased her.
Her graveside service will take place in the Wilson Cemetery in Websterville at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
Ruth's family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Woodridge Nursing Home for the wonderful care given to their mother during her stay there.

Obituary:
Christina Zink "Tina" Marshall Christina "Tina"" Carol Zink, age 51 of Marshall died on Saturday, July 27, 2002 at her home under the loving care of her family. Tina was born on October 23, 1950 in Battle Creek, to John and Barbara (Seitler) Chisholm. She was raised in Battle Creek, graduating from St. Philip High School. On October 24, 1970 she married John Zink in Marshall. He survives. Mrs. Zink lived much of her life in the Marshall area, however from 1979-1986 she lived in Arizona. Tina's main occupation was working as a buyer for Collins &: Aikman. Tina was a member at St. Mary Catholic Church. Her hobbies included reading and spending time outdoors. She also loved to spend time with her grandchildren. Along with her husband, Tina is survived by two daughters, Nicole (Brad) Blowers of Marshall, Danielle (Jason) Fuller of Marshall, four grandchildren, Tyler, Tanor & Griffin Blowers, and Landon Fuller all of Marshall, her mother, Barbara Chisholm of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, a brother, Michael (Gretchen) Chisholm of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, two sisters, Paulette (Mike) Becker of Troy, Idaho, Bridget Carnahan of Glendale, Arizona, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Visitation for Tina will take place on Tuesday, July 30, from 12-9PM at the Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home. The family will be present to receive visitors from 2-4PM & 6-8PM. A prayer service will be held at 7PM. Funeral Services celebrating her life will take place on Wednesday at 10:00AM at St. Mary Catholic Church with Reverend Father Stephen Naas officiating. Interment of her cremains will follow at St. Mary Cemetery. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Oaklawn Hospice or to the West Michigan Cancer Center. Assistance with memorials is available at the Kempf Funeral Home.

Albert "Keith" Blowers, age 77, of Marshall, MI passed away unexpectedly Monday, March 13, 2017. He was born on November 23, 1939 in Battle Creek, MI the son of Albert Blowers and Violet (Whitt) French. Keith met the love of his life, Betty Berry while driving his convertible at a drive in theatre.
They were married in Homer, MI on June 18, 1960. He was employed with Eaton Corp. for 38 years, retiring from the Proving Grounds in 1999. Keith enjoyed fishing, and in his earlier years he took fishing trips to Lake Erie.
He enjoyed evenings with friends playing poker, and golfing. Keith was a car enthusiast and loved driving his '74 vet. More than anything he loved his family, especially his grandchildren.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Betty of 57 years; sons, Bryan (Lory) Blowers of Battle Creek, Bradley Blowers, Brandon Blowers both of Marshall; 6 beloved grandchildren, Tyler, Tanor, Griffin, Madison, Hunter, and Jennifer Blowers; half-brother, Jake Green of Battle Creek. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Phyllis Cummins, Delores Woodman; brothers, William and Ron Blowers. Family will receive friends at Kempf Funeral Home, Marshall Chapel on Saturday, March 18, 2017 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm.

Barbara Jean Chisholm, 82, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, May 6, 2007 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. Barbara was born to John and Audrey (Bradley) Seitler on August 23, 1924 in Albion, MI.Barbara�s enthusiasm for life and her deep love of family and friends brightened the lives of everyone she touched. She thoroughly enjoyed her life in Arizona and never passed up a chance to travel with family and friends. She often visited Laughlin for great fun and especially great excitement when she would often win. She also enjoyed many years of golfing and dancing with friends.Barbara married John Chisholm and lived in Battle Creek Michigan for first 20+ years of their life together, followed by moving their family to Lake Havasu City 38 years ago. For several years Barb worked at the Nautical restaurant and for 14 years was office manager for Advanced Construction Co. in Lake Havasu City. Barbara enjoyed her membership at the Eagles, American Legion and Queens Bay Golf Club. Barbara is survived by her loving family; son, Michael Chisholm of Battle Creek, MI; Daughter, Bridget Carnahan of Glendale, AZ; and Paulette Becker, of Troy, ID; sisters, Rena Radee of Desert Hot Springs, CA; Phyllis Anderson of Mancelona, MI and Marvin Patton of Lake Havasu City, her companion of 23 years; nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Chisholm and daughter, Christina Zink.Memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2007, 10 a.m. at Lietz-Fraze Chapel, Lake Havasu City, AZ.Family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Barbara�s name to Hospice of Havasu, PO Box 597, Lake Havasu City, AZ 86406.
