Feb. 28, 1948, he married Berniece Boice and she survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Edwin D. (JoAnn), Marion and Terry W. (Brenda), St. Marys; two daughters, Janiece R. and P. Nanette (Shawn) Reier, all St. Marys; two brothers, Harvey Jr. of Paincourt, Ontario, Canada, and William, St. Marys; a sister, Martha Nagel, St. Marys; and numerous grandchildren.
Deceased are a daughter, Coleen Kay, and a brother, Herbert.
A U.S. Army veteran, he served in the European Theatre during World War II. He retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., St. Marys, where he had worked as a pipefitter and served as a union representative for a number of years. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 767, both of St. Marys, and the Loyal Order of Moose, Celina. He also was a life member of American Legion Post 323 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post, also of St. Marys. He had been active in the St. Marys Little League program for 45 years.

Berniece I. Henning, 82, of St. Marys, OH died Wednesday March 7, 2012 at JTDM Hospital in St. Marys. She was born March 31, 1929 in Celina, OH to Charles and Nellie (McDonald) Boice. On February 28, 1948 in Covington, KY she married Edwin R. Henning who died November 26, 2002.
Survivors include son Edwin D. (Jo Ann) Henning of Marion, OH; son Terry (Brenda) Henning of St. Marys, OH; daughter Janiece Henning of St. Marys, OH; daughter Nan (Kevin) Luedeke of St. Marys, OH; 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, brother Charles Boice of Texarkana, AR; sister Lee Boice of Troy, OH; sister Karen Boice of Minster, OH.
Preceded in death by parents Charles and Nellie Boice, husband Edwin Henning, daughter Coleen Henning (April 10, 1977), brother Jerry Boice, sister Delores Boice, sister Janelle Harden, sister Mary Ysassi.
Berniece was a 1947 graduate of Celina Senior High School. She retired from the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in St. Marys where she worked in production and supervision.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, American Legion Post #323 auxiliary, VFW Post #9289 auxiliary, Eagles Lodge #767 auxiliary, and JTDM Hospital Guild, all in St. Marys.
Her favorite pastimes included fishing, playing cards, watching sports, spending winters in Florida and most importantly, spoiling her grandchildren!
Rites are scheduled 1:00 p.m. Saturday March 10, 2012 at Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West Chapel) in St. Marys, with the Rev. Bill Maki officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery in St. Marys.
