Obituary:
Linus Louis Gerdeman, 88, of Ottawa died at 7:37 a.m. Thursday, October 25, 2012 at Putnam Acres Care Center, Ottawa. He was born February 21, 1924 in Glandorf to the late Frank and Regina (Inkrott) Gerdeman. On July 23, 1952, he married Rosemary Otto and she survives in Ottawa. Also surviving are 8 children:
Denny (Lisa) Gerdeman of Ottawa, Gary (Pat) Gerdeman of Ottawa, Deb (Denny) Kuhlman of Ottawa, Judy (Cliff) Knapp of Swanton, Nancy (Jerry) Niese of Ottawa, Cheryl (Roger) Niese of Leipsic, Jeff (Lisa) Gerdeman of Ottawa, Amy (Mike) Gerding of Glandorf; 19 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; a sister: Ruth Gerdeman of Pandora; a brother: Joe (Ruth) Gerdeman of Ottawa and a brother-in-law: John Keeterle of New Bavaria. He was preceded in death also by a grandson: Joe Knapp; 2 sisters: Agnes (Floyd) Scheckelhoff and Edna Keeterle.
Linus retired from Ottawa Feed and Grain Co., Ottawa. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf; Ottawa Eagles and Ottawa Knights of Columbus.
He loved spending time with his grandchildren and telling stories. He enjoyed woodworking, raising livestock and being outside.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 am Monday, October 29, 2012 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf with Fr. Tony Fortman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Marriage Announcement:
MRS. VINCENT H. ERHART The marriage of Miss Rita Ann Wallace and Vincent Henry Erhart was solemnized Saturday morning, July 30, at 10 o'clock in St. John's Catholic Church here. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Martha Wallace, Middle Point, and the late Walter Wallace and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Vitus Erhart, Route 1, Fort Jennings. Double Ring Rites. The impressive double ring ceremony was read preceding the nuptial Mass that was celebrated by Rev. Justin Weger. Altar decorations consisted of bouquets of pink gladioli and lighted candles in tall bronze holders. The Mass was sung by the children's choir with Charles Gedert, church organist, accompanying the choir and also playing the church's traditional wedding marches. Wedding Party Member of the wedding party included Agnes Erhart, sister of the groom, who was maid of honor, Joyce Martin and Rose Ann Plescher, bridesmaids, and Elizabeth Erhart, another sister of the groom, who was flower girl. The groom was attended by Harold Wallace, tha bride's brother, as best man, and ushers were Ralph Ellerbrock and Hujer Schumaker. Traditional White The bride chose fir: her wedding members of the wedding party at the home of the groom's parents, and a reception was planned to be held in Memorial Hall in Fort Jsnings during the afternoon. Dancing was planned for the evening. Later the newly married couple will leave for a honeymoon in the East. Upon their return they will reside in Fort Jennings. For traveling the bride chose a yellow chiffon taffeta dress, white accessories and a corsage of pink roses. Schools Attended The new Mrs. Erhart is a graduate of Delphos St. John's High School. Her husband attended Kalida High School and is engaged in farming. Out of town guests at the wedding were from Defiance, Lima, Bullevue, Bluffton, New Bavaria, Colgate, Continental, Fort Wayne, and New Haven, Ind. a floor length gown of tulle over taffeta in traditional white, The basque bodice was styled with delicately embroidersd motifs trimmed with sequins. The shoulder flattering neckline added charm to her gown and long tapering sleeves came to points at her wrists. The same were carried out on... embroidered motifs of taffeta: that bald Tier finge-lip veil of bridal illusion', and carried a bouquet of pink roses and white carnations with white streamers in which tiny rose buds were tied, atop a white Prayerbook. Attendants' Frocks The bride's attendarts wore ballerina length frocks of silk organza over taffeta. The fitted bodices had softly draped necklines and satin cummerbunds and embroidered motifs circled the deep hemmed bouffant skirts. Their headdresses were small leaf designs with pearl trim and circular veils to match their frocks.
