CONTINENTAL - Rita May Johnston, 51, of Continental died at 7:34 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2011 at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
She was born March 3, 1960 in Bluffton to Larry and Mary (Slattman) Holman, who survive in Ottawa. On Oct. 6, 1979, she married Timothy Johnston, and he survives in Continental.
Also surviving is a son, Andrew Johnston of Continental; a daughter, Stefanie Johnston of Continental; two grandchildren, Addison and Mason Ellerbrock; and three sisters, Rose (Allen) Smith of Oakwood, Kimberly (Dennis) Hanefeld of Continental, and Kathy Holman of Ayersville.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Holman.
Rita had worked for General Motors in Defiance, Louisiana Pacific in Ottawa, and Peg Leg in Continental.
Funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, at Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Continental with Deacon Joseph Heeter officiating. Burial was in Monroe Cemetery, Continental.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society of Northwest Ohio.

Obituary:
LEIPSIC - Pauline G. Torres, 86, of Leipsic, Ohio, passed away Saturday, January 24, 2015, in St. Petersburg, Fla. with her family by her side.
The Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, January 30, 2015 at St Mary’s Catholic Church, Leipsic, Ohio, with the Very Reverend Father George Wenzinger. Her burial will follow the service and she will be laid to rest next to her husband Eusebio "Junior" R. Torres Jr. in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Leipsic, Ohio.
Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, January 29 at Love-Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Leipsic where an opening prayer service will begin at 2:00 p.m.
Pauline was born October 4, 1928 in Brownsville, TX to the late Anastacio and Bernarda (Salinas) Guitron. In 1951, she married Eusebio "Junior" R. Torres Jr. in Brownsville, TX and soon moved to Leipsic, Ohio, where they raised five children.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Leipsic and loved cooking, gardening, and spending time with family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her eldest son John G. Torres, her four sisters: Ramona G. Casas, Minerva G. Valdez, Ofelia Guitron, and Aida Lira; and five brothers: Lamberto Guitron, Manuel Guitron, Antonio Guitron, Victor Guitron, and Anastacio Guitron Jr.
Pauline’s surviving family includes one daughter: Patricia M. Ellerbrock (Greg) of St. Petersburg, Florida; and three sons: Rolando G. Torres (Barb) of Dade City, FL, Daniel G. Torres (Lynn) of Cape Coral, FL, and David A. Torres of Cape Coral, FL. Four grandchildren: Sarah M. Worley of Orlando, FL, Andrea K. Ellerbrock of Columbus, OH, Chelsea M. Torres of Tampa, FL, and Eric Daniel Torres of Cape Coral, FL.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donations be made to Putnam County Hospice or the Alzheimer’s Foundation in her name.

Obituary:
Paul J. Schroeder, 86, of Leipsic, died at 3 p.m. Thursday at his residence. He was born Sept. 7, 1917 in Leipsic, to Charles and Amelia (Kuhlman) Schroeder. On May 1, 1940, he married Lucille Otto. She survives in Leipsic.
Survivors also include six daughters, Dorothy (Tom) Okuley of New Bavaria, Rita (Leo) Schroeder and Janet Schnipke of New Cleveland, Rosemary (Gary) Brown and JoAnn (Allan) Brown of Miller City and Kathy (Dick) Beining of Ottoville; a brother, Thaddeus (Florence) Schroeder of Leipsic; two sisters, Anna Marie (Al) Warnecke of Kalida and Lou Ann Hermiller of Ottawa; 29 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Marcellus, Albert and James Schroeder; four sisters, Lucille Aelker, Alice Otto, Florence Otto and Mary Jane Rieman; and a son-in-law, Frank Schnipke.
Mr. Schroeder was a retired dairy farmer. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Leipsic, and the Ottawa Knights of Columbus Council 1757 and Eagles Aerie 2234. He enjoyed sharing time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also played cards and bingo, took bus trips and just enjoyed being on the farm.
Mass of Christian burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary Catholic Church, the Rev. George Wenzinger officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. today and 2-8 p.m. Sunday at Love Funeral Home, Leipsic, where an Eagles service will begin at 7:30 p.m. today and K of C Rosary will begin at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Preferred memorials are to Putnam County Home Care or donor's choice.
