Obituary:
Leonard John Stechschulte, 84, died peacefully surrounded by family at 5:40 p.m. Oct. 1, 2010, at Blanchard Valley Hospital, in Findlay, following a short illness.
He was born July 12, 1926, near Columbus Grove to Lawrence and Loretta Stechschulte, who preceded him in death. On April 7, 1948, he married Jeanette Schroeder, who died April 14, 1991.
Mr. Stechschulte was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Columbus Grove, and was a charter member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed woodworking, traveling and working with stained glass. In his retirement, he made rosaries that he gave to the missions, schools, nursing homes, family, friends and acquaintances.
Survivors include seven daughters, Marilyn Giesige, of Ravenna, Barb (Jim) Erford, of Mount Cory, Kate (Ron) Kottenbrock, of Glandorf, Karen (Steve) Meyer, of Parsons, Kan., Jane (Richard) Kamphaus and Jean (Bill) Hohenbrink, both of Columbus Grove, and Lynn (Dean) Utendorf, of Elmore; a special friend and companion, Wauneta Suter; 30 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren; a brother, Lawrence Stechschulte Jr., of Columbus Grove; and a sister, Helen Schroeder, of Leipsic.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Stechschulte; three sisters, Irene Recker, Bertha Steffes and Sally Schroeder; and a granddaughter, Janis Erford Heldman.
His Celebration of Life Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Columbus Grove. The Rev. Tom Oedy will officiate.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hartman Sons Funeral� Home, Columbus Grove, where a Knights of Columbus rosary service will be held at 8 p.m. immediately following visitation.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bridge Hospice Care Center at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay, St. Anthony School, Columbus Grove, or the charity of the donor's choice.

Katherine M. Salopek Marlatt, age 88, of West Mifflin, formerly of Clairton, passed away on Saturday, April 3, 2010 in Jefferson Regional Medical Center. She was a member of Holy Spirit Church in West Mifflin. Born April 22, 1921 in Clairton, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Frances Tomas Salopek and wife of the late Kenneth R. Marlatt, who passed away on January 8, 1998. She is survived by a daughter, Patricia A. (Clark) Hallman of Del Rapids, SD; grandchildren, Rayna Hallman, Zebulon Hallman, Cynthia Marlatt, Cathleen Marlatt and Christopher (Jessica) Marlatt; daughter-in-law, Gloria Marlatt of Wauseon, OH; sister, Agnes Prisbylla of Port Vue; nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by a son, James K. Marlatt and grandson, Craig Marlatt. Friends will be received in the A.J. Bekavac Funeral Home, Clairton on Wednesday, April 7th from 10:00AM until 12Noon. A Blessing will follow in the funeral home at 12Noon, with Rev. John B. Lendvai officiating. Burial will be in Lebanon Church Cemetery, West Mifflin.
