Obituary:
KALIDA � Leon A. Kahle, 89, of Kalida died at 10:40 p.m. Sunday, February 5, 2012 at St. Rita�s Medical Center, Lima. He was born October 29, 1922 in Kalida to the late Ferd and Clementine (Bensman) Kahle. On October 13, 1948 he married Lou Ann Webken and she survives in Kalida.
He is also survived by his 10 children: Dan (Theresa) Kahle of Cloverdale, Marcia (Bill Cornett) Kahle of Dallas, TX, Joe (Charlene) Kahle of Zanesville, Bern (Pam) Kahle of Kalida, Harold Kahle of Cloverdale, Ruth (Rick) Peck of Kalida, Nick Kahle of Cloverdale, Teresa (Mark Gasser) Kahle-Britsch of Kalida, Rita (Dave) Schroeder of Kalida, and Earl Kahle of Kalida; 16 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and one on the way; a brother: Jim (Diane) Kahle of Kalida; and a sister: Gert Baldauf of Quincy, MI. He was also preceded in death by a son: Larry Kahle, a great-grandson: Aaron Schnipke, a son-in-law: Chris Britsch, 4 brothers: Norbert, Clete, Herm, and Rudolph Kahle and 5 sisters: Peg Suever, Celeste Broecker, Monica Schmersal, Ag Niemeyer, and Mary Ann Kahle.
Windy was owner/operator of Kahle Turkey Farm in Kalida and a life long farmer. He was a Navy veteran of WWII. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Kalida and their Holy Name Society. He was also a member of the Ottawa American Legion, Kalida Knights of Columbus, Ottawa Eagles and past president of the Ohio Poultry Association. Everyone knew Windy as an avid historian and storyteller.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held 1:30 p.m. Thursday, February 9, 2012 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Kalida with Fr. Jason Kahle officiating. Burial will follow in St. Michael Cemetery with military rites by the Ottawa American Legion. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 pm Wednesday and 11:30 a.m. until time of service Thursday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township (on the corner of St Rts 224 and 634). In lieu of flowers, Lou Ann and family request memorials be donated to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.

Obituary:
Dorothy M. MacDonald, age 86, died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2005 at the Oakwood Skilled Nursing Center in Trenton.
She was born April 27, 1918 in Ypsilanti, the daughter of Cortland and Carey (Spears) Snedicor. She had been a Saline resident for more than 35 years. On April 2, 1942, she married Norman R. "Scotty" MacDonald and he preceded her in death on Aug. 24, 1997. Dorothy was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Saline and was a graduate of Eastern Michigan University (Michigan Normal Teachers' College) class of 1940. She received her degree in teaching. Dorothy was employed by the Ypsilanti Public School system where she taught in the Middle School for many years.
Survivors include: two children, Jane Susan MacDonald of Monroe and James Scott MacDonald of Trenton; two grandchildren, Jamie and Jessica Anne MacDonald; and one brother, Terry Snedicor. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Marshall, and one daughter-in-law, Jane MacDonald.
Burial took place in the Highland Cemetery in Ypsilanti.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Saline.
