Anthony C. "Tony" Pakula DETROIT - Anthony C. "Tony" Pakula, 90, passed away March 21, 2019. A US Army veteran, Mr. Pakula was a decorated Detroit Police Officer serving for 25 years. Mr. Pakula is survived by his seven children, Kathleen Schultz, Linda (Tom) Gorman, Michael, David Howells, Sandra (Richard) Pringle, Andrew (Tina) Howells, Janet Dees; sister, Irene (Norbert) Romej; 32 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Mr. Pakula was pre-deceased by his first wife, Antoinette and second wife, Eleanor. Friends may visit on Friday, March 29, 2019 from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 37000 Six Mile Road, Livonia, MI 48152 and on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until time of Mass at 11:00 at St. Thomas Becket Catholic Church 555 South Liffey Road, Canton, MI 48188. Eleanor Zelinski Pakula, 66, of Boulder City died Monday in a local care center. She was born Nov. 6, 1936, in Detroit. A resident for 22 years, she was a retired cashier.
She is survived by her husband, Anthony C.; four daughters, Kathleen Schultz of Charlotte, N.C., Linda Lee Gorman of Onondaga, Mich., Sandra K. Pringle of Canton, Mich., and Janet Dees of Arkabutla, Miss.; three sons, Michael Pakula of Sunrise, Fla., David Howells of Grand Island, Neb., and Andrew Howells of Fallon; four sisters, Ester Slaga of Detroit, Patricia Luteran of Mesa, Ariz., Florence Snyder of Topock, Ariz., and Ruth Naron of St. George, Utah; two brothers, Robert Stoss of Michigan and Richard Zelinski of Dearborn Heights, Mich.; 26 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, followed by a 6 p.m. wake in St. Andrew Catholic Church, 1399 San Felipe Drive, Boulder City. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Andrew Catholic Church, followed by entombment at Palm Mausoleum, Boulder City.

Obituary:
W.J. "Joe" BERLING Passed away December 22nd in his home surrounded by his family. He was an old fashioned gentleman with a smile that could fill the room. Joe was born 11/22/22 in Covington, KY and came to Seattle in 1944 while serving in the Navy. He met Jeanne Tadlock, married in 1947, graduated from Seattle University and bought his home in Bellevue in 1949 where he lived for 53 years.
Joe began his career with what was then the Edison Technical School in 1962, and retired in 1987 from what had become North Seattle Community College. Joe built his home, raised four children, maintained a fabulous vegetable and rose garden and discovered bicycling in 1972 which became his passion and took him around the U.S. and Europe. He rode the STP ten years in a row!
He was preceded in death by a daughter Anne, 1978 and wife Jeanne, 1986. He is survived by his loyal, loving companion Betty Wylie and son Walt (Bec) Jackson, WY, daughters Mary (Dennis) La Center, WA and Gretchen (Steve) Issaquah, WA and seven grandchildren.
A memorial will be held Wednesday, January 14th @ 11:00 at St. Louise Catholic Church in Bellevue. Remembrances may be made to the charity of your choice.
