Obituary:
Henrietta, 91, Ft. Jennings, died at 3:50 a.m., at The Meadows of Kalida.
She was the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Dalsing) Hasenkamp. On Oct 19, 1946, she married Thomas Calvelage, who preceded her in death.
Surviving are three sons: Joseph (Ladonna), Ft. Jennings, John (Sharon), Bluffton, and Virgil (Karen), Columbus Grove; three daughters: Ruth Miehls, Ft. Jennings, Joyce Grote, Ottawa, and Janice (Dennis) Wehri, Bryan; a brother-in-law, Hugh Willey, Traverse City, MI; a sister-in-law, Elda Calvelage, Delphos; and twenty-three grandchildren, thirty-four great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a son-in-law, Earl Miehls, Jr.; a grandchild, Melissa Calvalage; four brothers: Raphael, Paul, Herman and Hubert; and five sisters: Florence Trentman, Alice Blankemeyer, Alvera Dietring, Loretta Calvelage and Leona Willey.
A homemaker, she was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ft. Jennings, and Catholic Ladies of Columbia.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ft. Jennings, with Rev. Charles Obinwa officiating. Burial will follow in church cemetery.

Jerome F. Bonifas, 57, route 1, Cloverdale, died at 9:10 p.m. Monday at St. Rita’s Medical Center emergency room of an apparent heart attack.
Mr. Bonifas was born in Landeck on February 23, 1923, to Albert and Mary Catherine (Ricker) Bonifas. Both survive in Landeck.
He married Ann Hoehn in Ottoville on August 30, 1950, and she also survives along with four sons, Paul, Kalida, Thomas, Columbus Grove, Donald and Robert both at home; five daughters, Mrs. Dave (Jane) Kahle, Kalida, Mrs. James (Martha) Miller, Delphos, Mrs. Virgil (Patricia) Schroeder, Ottawa, and Doris and Sharon both at home; 12 grandchildren; four brothers, Arthur, Delphos, Richard and Albert, both of Landeck, and John Ossinke, Mich.; and a sister, Mrs. Elmer (Dorothy) Hoffman, Delphos. Two brothers, Norbert and Aloysius, are deceased.
Mr. Bonifas served in the U. S. Army during World War II. He was employed at GTE Sylvania in Ottawa and was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ottoville.
Mass of Resurrection will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the church with the Rev. Roger Bonifas officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery at Ottoville. Parish wake service will be in the Kolkmeyer-Helmkamp Funeral Home in Ottoville at 8 p.m. tonight.

Ann A. Bonifas, 92, of Ottoville, died at 8:44 a.m. Sunday, September 23, 2012 at Putnam County Ambulatory Care Center, Glandorf. She was born November 14, 1919 in Monterey Township, Putnam County to the late Andrew and Rosa (Weber) Hoehn. On August 30, 1950, she married Jerome Bonifas and he died September 15, 1980. Surviving are 9 children: Jane (David) Kahle of Kalida, Paul (Joyce) Bonifas of Kalida, Martha (James) Miller of Landeck, Thomas (Judith) Bonifas of Kalida, Patricia (Virgil) Schroeder of Glandorf, Robert Bonifas of Ottoville, Doris (Joseph) Bockey of Delphos, Sharon (Carl) Mesker of Spring Lake, MI, and Donald (Kathleen) Bonifas of Fort Jennings; 27 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 1 brother: Walter (Toni) Hoehn of Lima; 4 brothers-in-law: Arthur (Alice) Bonifas of Delphos and Richard (Jane) Bonifas of Landeck, Albert (Eileen) Bonifas, Jr. of Landeck, John (Lori) Bonifas of Alpena MI; a sister-in-law: Dorothy (Elmer) Hoffman of Delphos. She was preceded in death also by a great-granddaughter: Alexis Mack; 2 brothers: John (Alberta) Hoehn, Lawrence Hoehn; a sister: Hilda (Wilbert) Menker; 3 sisters-in-law: Agnes Hoehn, Rosie Hoehn, Betty Hoehn and her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Albert Sr.and Mary Catherine Bonifas
Ann retired from Schnipke Engraving in Ottoville and was a homemaker. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville and its Altar Rosary Society. She was a 1937 graduate of Ottoville High School and volunteered at Paradise Oaks and Meadows of Kalida Nursing Homes. Ann was strong in her faith, devoted to God and taught her family to love one another. She was a wonderful role model and proud of her large family. She enjoyed working on the family farm, having her family together and playing cards and bingo. Her sharp memory was with her to the end. She was truly loved and will be missed by all those she touched.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville with Fr. John Stites officiating.

Linus Louis Gerdeman, 88, of Ottawa died at 7:37 a.m. Thursday, October 25, 2012 at Putnam Acres Care Center, Ottawa. He was born February 21, 1924 in Glandorf to the late Frank and Regina (Inkrott) Gerdeman. On July 23, 1952, he married Rosemary Otto and she survives in Ottawa. Also surviving are 8 children:
Denny (Lisa) Gerdeman of Ottawa, Gary (Pat) Gerdeman of Ottawa, Deb (Denny) Kuhlman of Ottawa, Judy (Cliff) Knapp of Swanton, Nancy (Jerry) Niese of Ottawa, Cheryl (Roger) Niese of Leipsic, Jeff (Lisa) Gerdeman of Ottawa, Amy (Mike) Gerding of Glandorf; 19 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; a sister: Ruth Gerdeman of Pandora; a brother: Joe (Ruth) Gerdeman of Ottawa and a brother-in-law: John Keeterle of New Bavaria. He was preceded in death also by a grandson: Joe Knapp; 2 sisters: Agnes (Floyd) Scheckelhoff and Edna Keeterle.
Linus retired from Ottawa Feed and Grain Co., Ottawa. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf; Ottawa Eagles and Ottawa Knights of Columbus.
He loved spending time with his grandchildren and telling stories. He enjoyed woodworking, raising livestock and being outside.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 am Monday, October 29, 2012 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf with Fr. Tony Fortman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
