Mausoleum plaque, Irving Park Cemetery, Chicago, ILObituary:
Elaine W. Plinske, age 93, of Bull Valley IL, passed away on Friday, November 13, 2020, as the busy and complicated Thanksgiving, Christmas/New Years holiday season was settling upon us.
Born on January 14, 1927, the daughter of Edward and Astrid Roth. Elaine married the love of her life Clifford Plinske on October 20, 1945 in Chicago IL.
Elaine was a long time member of Bethany Lutheran Church of Crystal Lake and a member of WELCA, and Sons of Norway. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, knitting scarves for her loved ones, and most of all spending time with her family.
Elaine is survived by her two children Sue (Jim) Tobin of Lake Zurich and Audrey (Tom) Doepker of Bull Valley; her six grandchildren Amy (Brad) Trotter, Tom (Kerisa) Doepker, Heather (Chris) Helms, Laura (Kevin) Eaton, Jim (Michelle) Tobin and William Doepker; and her two great grandchildren Leeland Doepker and Leyton Doepker.
She was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Astrid Roth; her in-laws Adolph and Mae Plinske; her sister Audrey Olsen and her brothers-in-law Stanley Olsen, Norman Plinske, and Ronald Plinske; and her beloved husband Clifford in 2000, and had lived with her daughter Audrey and Tom during the last twenty years of her life.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 19, 2020, at Colonial Funeral Home, 591 Ridgeview Drive, McHenry, IL followed by a private Funeral Service which was held at Irving Park Cemetery in Chicago, Illinois.
Due to restrictions, it was difficult to attend her visitation with protocols while inside of the funeral home. It was kind and much appreciated by her family, for those dear friends who were able to attend and to share in Elaine's wonderful life's story, her deep love for her husband Clifford, and her everlasting love and pride in each of her family members. The high point of the visitation was when her three year old great-grandson Leeland, walked to the front of the room, and without prompting, sang "Twinkle - Twinkle Little Star" to all who listened . . .
Great gramma Elaine was smiling down on him at that moment . . .
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Elaine's name were, and may always be directed to American Heart Association 3816 Paysphere Circle Chicago, Il. 60603 and the Kidney Foundation of greater Chicago.
