Bonnie Ohlrich, of Liberty Center, is proud to announce the engagement of her daughter, Emily, of Napoleon, also the daughter of the late Allan Ohlrich, to Brent Gerken, of Napoleon, son of Tim and Deb Gerken of Montpelier, and Larry and Deb LaForrest, of Napoleon.
The bride-to-be is a 2001 graduate of Liberty Center High School, a 2005 graduate of Defiance College with a bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education, and a 2008 graduate of Bowling Green State University with a master’s degree in Intervention Services. She is an Intervention Specialist with Bowling Green City Schools.
Her fiancâe is a 1999 graduate of Napoleon High School, and 2003 graduate of Northwest State Community College with an associate degree in Mechanical Engineering. He is a maintenance technician at Sauder Woodworking.
The couple plan to exchange wedding vows on Saturday, June 15, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Napoleon Township.

Obituary:
Allan D. Ohlrich entered the Church Triumphant on the morning of Tuesday, September 4, 2012. At the time of his passing, he was hospitalized at Cleveland Metro Health Center, Cleveland Ohio. He was 55 years old. Born on August 26, 1957 in Defiance Ohio, Allan was the firstborn of the five children of Raymond and Luella (Junge) Ohlrich. He was baptized as a child of God on September 14, 1957 at Hope Lutheran Church, Hamler Ohio, and was confirmed in the faith on April 4, 1971. He graduated from Patrick Henry High School in 1975. As a youth, he attended Hamler School and was active in Boy Scouts. A special highlight of those years was that of attending Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimarron, New Mexico. He had the privilege of making the trek once again to Philmont with his sons when they too were active in Boy Scouts.He married Bonnie Kay Oberhaus on November 30, 1979 at St Paul’s Lutheran Church, Napoleon Township, Napoleon Ohio. God blessed their union with the birth of three children, Emily Ann, Timothy Allan, and Michael Allan. He was a loving and devoted husband and father. An active member of St. Paul’s, Allan was currently serving as a Trustee. Allan was a Henry County Sheriff’s Deputy for 26 years, retiring in April 2011. He served as an advisor for several years for the Henry County Sheriff’s Special Deputies and was instrumental in starting the Henry County Law Enforcement Academy. He was currently serving as the Deputy Commander of the Henry County Northwest State Community College Law Enforcement Academy.He owned and operated a seamless eavestroughing business for 30 plus years. He also raised pheasants and operated a pheasant hunting preserve. If you see a pheasant strutting around Henry County, it is most likely one that he raised. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and spending time with family and friends.He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Bonnie; his daughter Emily and her fiancâee Brent Gerken (Napoleon); his sons, Timothy (Liberty Center) and Michael (Paulding); his parents Ray and Luella Ohlrich (Hamler); two sisters: Linda Campbell and her husband Bill (Toledo), and Darlene Hoffman and her husband, Andrew (Holgate); a brother, David Ohlrich (Hamler); nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends. He was welcomed home by his Lord and Savior and reunited with his precious little one, an infant sister Cheryl, and his grandparents, Arthur and Martha Ohlrich, and Carl and Minna Junge.Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 8 from 2-8 at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Napoleon and on Sunday one hour prior to the funeral service. Services will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Napoleon Township at 3:00p.m. on Sunday September 9 with Rev. Dr. Franklin Hays and Pastor Dean Stoner officiating. Memorials may be given to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Memorial Fund or the Allan D. Ohlrich Scholarship Fund (Law Enforcement Academy Scholarship) through Northwest State Community College Foundation.

Schwarz, Darrell W.“Red”
Age 72, died on Thursday, April 22, 2004 at his home. Red was born on December 6, 1931, in New Rockford, North Dakota, to the late Edward and Hilda Mae (Loesel) Schwarz. He married Joan Hart of Appleton on June 16, 1956; she preceded him in death in 1998. With his family, Red moved to Roseau, Minnesota, 1932, graduating from Roseau High School in 1949. He was proud to serve his country for 22 years in the United States Air Force, enlisting in 1950, and serving during the Korean Conflict. Following his retirement from the Air Force in 1972, Red was employed in retail sales for 20 years. Red's hobbies included photography and golfing. His real passion was gardening. Friends and family could count on receiving fresh vegetables from his garden. Red was also very dedicated to his love of God.
Survivors include his children: Kathleen (Robert) Delchambre of Neenah, Carmen (George) Greenwood of Kaukauna, Mark (Jill) Schwarz of Thornton, CO, and Matthew Schwarz of Appleton; his grandchildren: Dustin Doepker of Neenah, Krista Greenwood of Madison, Andrew Greenwood of Kaukauna, Timothy Greenwood of Kaukauna, and David Schwarz of Thornton, CO; his brothers: Edward (Joanne) Schwarz of Hortonville and Charles (Barbara) Schwarz of Tucson, AZ; his sisters: Jacqueline Baehr of Clearwater, FL, Judy (Jim) Bleier of Waube Lake, WI, and Donna Schwarz of Albuquerque, NM. He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Judy Ann, and a Grandson, Daniel Doepker.
The funeral liturgy will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 28, 2004 at HOLY ANGELS CATHOLIC CHURCH, W5831 Highway KK, Darboy, with Fr. Dennis Bergsbaken officiating. Friends may call at the church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be at Holy Angels Cemetery following the liturgy.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Mark Hallet, Dr. Jeffrey Whiteside, and the staff at Theda Care at Home for their compassionate care.
A memorial fund in Red's name is being established.

LEIPSIC - Justin G. "Jud" Schroeder, 87, of Leipsic, passed away from his earthly life to the next 7:55 a.m., Sunday, November 16, 2014 at The Meadows of Leipsic. Jud was born October 12, 1927, in Leipsic, to the late August and Elenora (Smith) Schroeder. On April 5, 1953, he married Mary C. "Kate" Fenbert and she survives in Leipsic.
Also surviving are 7 children: Beverly (Keith) Dewar of Leipsic, Rebecca (Steve) Schnipke of Ottawa, Keith "Kojak" (Nancy) Schroeder of Leipsic, Barbara (John) Beining of Ottawa, Philip "Flip" (Natalie) Schroeder of Findlay, J. Bruce (Teresa) Schroeder of Leipsic and J. Bradley (Jill) Schroeder of Leipsic; proud grandfather of 30 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren; a brother: Ronald (Edith) Schroeder of Leipsic; a sister: Bernadette (George) Burke of Columbus; and daughter-in-law: Jean (Gary) Nienberg of Miller City.
Jud was preceded in death by 4 sons: Frederick, Matthew, Gregory and Timothy; 7 brothers: Dennis Schroeder, Saturnius "Barney" Schroeder, Cletus Schroeder, James "Jake" Schroeder, Guido Schroeder, Hyacinth "Jack" Schroeder and Valen Schroeder; and 2 sisters: Geneva Snyder and Coletta Niese.
Jud was a master craftsman in woodworking and has left traces of his talent throughout several homes and businesses in Ohio. He was a farmer with a love for the land and growing things including his tomato and onion plants in spring/summer. Jud had a great love of family and his favorite saying when told "I love you", was "You cannot possibly love me more than I love you.". He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leipsic and its Holy Name Society.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin 10:30 a.m., Thursday, November 20, 2014 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leipsic, with Fr. George Wenzinger officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, and 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic, with a rosary at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday night.
Memorial donations may be given to Putnam County Home Health and Hospice, St. Mary's Church or to the charity of the donor's choice .
