Bernard Donald Minnick Sr., age 84, of Owosso, MI passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at Ovid Healthcare Center.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Paul's Catholic Church Owosso, MI on Friday, October 31, 2008 at 10:00 AM; Rev. Father John Fain will officiate. Burial will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Owosso, MI. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2008 from 6-8 PM and Thursday October 30, 2008 from 2-8 PM with family present 2-4 & 6-8 PM with a Scripture Service at 7 PM. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Jennings-Lyons Chapel, Owosso.
Bernard was born in Brady Township, Michigan on November 16, 1923, the son of Henry and Ellen (Gladiann) Minnick. Bernard and Isabelle (Herrick) Minnick were married for 42 years; she passed away May 15, 1982. Bernard resided most of his life in Owosso. He worked for Owosso Public Schools for 26 years in maintenance. He enjoyed playing cards. Bernard liked feeding the squirrels and was an avid television watcher.
He is survived by 2 daughters; Sharon and Steve Kurncz of Owosso, MI, Sherline Rohde of Owosso, MI, a son Bernie and Robin Minnick, Jr. of Owosso, MI, 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and a special friend Karen Skutt of Owosso, MI. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife, a son, Ernest "Ernie" in infancy, and a granddaughter Sherry Lyn Skornicka.
Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.

Obituary:
Mary Lou Turner died Sept 13, 2008 of pancreatic cancer. Her husband, Bob, preceded her in death in 2001 after 54 years of marriage.
She was born on November 10, 1927, in South Bend, Indiana, the precious daughter of Robert Gerald O'Daniel and Madeleine (Haydan) O'Daniel.
Mary Lou lived in the Chelsea/ Ann Arbor area most of her married life. Her delight was her family, the "lunch bunch", and Chelsea Free Methodist Church family, where she was an active member. Serving her church as greeter and a member of the Stewards' Committee, as well as belonging to her Small Group Bible Study, was her passion. Her gifts were hospitality and serving, and she did these with grace. She will be missed but will forever be in our hearts.
Survivors included three children, Patti (Mark) Musolf of Chelsea, Sandy (Keith) Siefker of Celebration, FL, Rob (Juli) Turner of Chelsea; six grandchildren, Krista (Mike) Jarvey, Kelly Stephens, Mandy Siefker, Brandon Seifker, Madeleine and Molly Turner; four great-grandchildren, Hope Stephens, Clayton, Caden, and Cailee Jarvey; and Godchild, Charlene Wharton.

Obituary:
Dorothy F. Ash, 92, passed away peacefully at Crest Health Center at Ridgecrest Village on Monday, November 21, 2011, with her family by her side.
The family will greet friends today, November 22, 2011 from 4-7 p.m. at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, where a prayer service will be offered at 6:45 p.m. There will be an additional visitation on Wednesday for 1 hour prior to the Funeral Service and Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1923 Fillmore St., Davenport. The Mass will be on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport.
Mrs. Ash was born on May 7, 1919, the first of twin daughters of Charles and Eva Metzger, in Iowa City. She graduated from St. Mary&s High School in 1937 and continued her education at Irish Business School in Iowa City with emphasis in bookkeeping and office work. Dorothy worked at Penney&s, Pipers Candy Store, Iowa State Bank, Daily Iowan Newspaper and a real estate office in Iowa City.
On February 5, 1948, she was united in marriage to Richard E. Ash in Iowa City at St. Mary&s Catholic Church and shortly after moved to Davenport, where they raised five daughters. Richard preceded her in death on December 6, 2007. They had shared over 59 years of marriage together.
Mrs. Ash was a volunteer with the USO during WWII. She also volunteered with Adam&s School PTA, had a membership with the Davenport Moose Club and was member of the Holy Family Catholic Church since 1952. She enjoyed the company of her family, especially at picnics and holiday, traveling in her younger years, tending her flowers and playing cards (mostly UNO in her later years). She was a devoted wife and caregiver for her husband until his death. She was a sensitive, intuitive, caring and loving Mother.
Memorials may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church or to the charity of your choice.
Dorothy is survived by her five daughters; Connie Ash of Eldridge, Susan Hyvari of Livonia, Michigan, Jane (Dale) Goldensoph of Davenport, Judy (Rick) Claussen of Le Claire and Debbie Ash of Davenport; 9 grandchildren, Todd, Eric, Pam, Lynn, Tiffany, Nicole, Christopher, Brad and Dorothy; 7 great-grandchildren and 2 step great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard, twin sister Lois Anderson, brother Raymond, her parents and four aunts.
Dorothy&s family would like to thank the Ridgecrest staff and Compassus Hospice for their care and compassion.
