Glandorf -- Dolores P. Schroeder, 85, of Glandorf, died 12:43 a.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at The Meadows of Ottawa. She was born December 8, 1931 in Cloverdale to the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Heitmeyer) Burgei. On June 6, 1950 she married Edmund W. Schroeder who died August 28, 2004.
Dolores is survived by three sons: Gerald (Betty) Schroeder, Virgil (Pat) Schroeder, Norman (Kelly) Schroeder, all of Glandorf; six daughters: Pat (Gary) Gerdeman, Phyllis (Brian) Imm, Dorothy (Joe) Karl III all of Glandorf, Janet (Pat) McFarland of Ottawa, Karen (Virgil) Calvelage of Columbus Grove, Margie (Larry) Coulon of Napoleon, 20 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a grandson: Dustin Ward; three brothers: Leo, Edward and Gilbert Burgei; four sisters: Mary Burgei, Monica Verhoff, Amanda Turnwald, and Barbara Miller.
Dolores was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf, where she was a member of the CL of C and Altar Rosary. She was also a Glandorf Fire Lady. Dolores enjoyed spending time with her family. Her favorite past time was playing euchre. She enjoyed watching Hallmark Channel movies and loved cooking for her family. Angel food cake was her specialty.
A Mass of Christian burial will begin 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf with Fr. Tony Fortman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 2 to 8 p.m., as well as an hour prior to service at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa where there will be a Glandorf Fire Ladies service at 7 p.m. and a Altar Rosary and CL of C rosary at 7:30 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to Putnam County Hospice.
