Obituary:
MARCELLA M. (SALLY) WENDLING of Maple Grove Township
Age 97, passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at home. She was born on August 8, 1916 in Goodrich to the late Reuben and Martha (Gasper) Hebeler. Sally married Hubert Wendling on January 21, 1939, and he preceded her in death on July 24, 1993. Sally was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and was a member of the Altar Society. She enjoyed bird watching, card playing, reading, following the Detroit Tigers and especially spending time with her grandchildren. Sally also enjoyed attending the Maple Grove Senior Citizens.
Surviving are her children: Chuck (Diana) Wendling, of New Lothrop, Don (Jean) Wendling, of New Lothrop, Maurice Wendling, of New Lothrop, Ken (Vi) Wendling, of Chesaning, Joan (Mike) Skeltis, of Burt, Walt (Linda) Wendling, of Montrose, Mary (Bernie) Bauman, of Montrose, Fred (Katie) Wendling, of Chesaning, and Ray (Karen) Wendling, of New Lothrop; daughter-inlaw, Marsha Wendling, of New Lothrop; 38 grandchildren, 79 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a son, Vince; great-granddaughter, Laklee Wendling; and brothers and sisters, Kenneth and Ed Hebeler, Helena Hebeler, Pat Gross, Lucille Gross, and Laurena Bitterman.
Funeral liturgy was held on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at 11 am at St. Michael Catholic Church, Maple Grove. Fr. Nick Coffaro officiated, with burial in St. Michael Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to the Walker- Martin Funeral Home, of Chesaning.
