John A. Kemper
John A. Kemper, 56, Ottoville, died at 10:45 a.m. Sunday, August 15, 1993, at his residence.
He was born August 28, 1934 in Ottoville to Herman and Theresia (Ricker) Kemper. He married Ruth Ann Schroeder on July 8, 1959 and she survives in Ottoville.
Other survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Darrell (Annette) Hanf, Schweinfurt, Germany, Mrs. Leo (Joan) Ellerbrock, Leipsic, and Mrs. Ted (Christine) Ralston, Lima; nine grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Alex (Frances) Muzechuck, and Mrs. Amelia Burdg, both of Dayton, Mrs. Robert (Lucille) Lammers, New Cleveland, Mrs. James (Theresa) Kramer, Ottoville, and Mrs. Donald (Agnes) Ostendorf, Ft. Jennings; three brothers, Isadore, Arnold, and his twin brother Joseph, all of Ottoville.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Bert Gasser; and four brothers, Lawrene, Henry, Leo and Alphonse Kemper.
Mr. Kemper was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, and a social member of the Ottoville VFW. He was an employee of Philips Display Components Company in Ottawa for 35 years.
A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville. Rev. Roger Bonifas will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ottoville.
Friends may call Wednesday all day at the Kolkmeyer-Helmkamp-Siferd Funeral Home, Ottoville, where a parish wake will be held today (Wednesday) at 8 p.m.
Preferred memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Obituary:
GOMER, OH: Betty Lou (Conrad) Watkins, 86, passed away at 5:12 a.m. on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at Lima Memorial Health System. She was born in Monroe Township, Allen County, Ohio near Cairo on February 8, 1928 to Frank and Elva Mae (Long) Conrad who preceded her in death. On January 18, 1948, she was united in marriage to Willard D. Watkins. He preceded her in death on October 22, 2012.
Betty was a graduate of Columbus Grove High School, Class of 1946. She was also a graduate of Fredericks Beauty Academy, Class of 1947. She served as a part-time postal clerk for 32 years at the Post Office in Gomer, OH. She was a member of Gomer Congregational Church serving as a Deaconess for two terms and financial Secretary for one term. She served as secretary of the Allen County Chapter of the Genealogical Society; holder of three first family of Allen County certificates. Betty volunteered at the Allen County Museum Library. She enjoyed doing genealogy, crossword puzzles and country music.
She is survived by one son, Willard Rodney (Nancy) Watkins, Gomer, OH; three daughters, Diana Barnt, Gomer, OH, Mary Jane (Keaton) Vandemark, Spring Hope, N.C., Sue (Jay) Grusenmeyer, Lima, OH; eight grandsons, Trevor (Angie) Vandemark, Tyler (Boots) Vandemark, and Dean (Christina) Vandemark, all of Spring Home, N.C., Cory Barnt and Jon Grusenmeyer, both of Columbus, OH, Tod Grusenmeyer, New Orleans, L.A., and Ethan (Amberly) and Travis Watkins, both of Gomer; five great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild; and one special niece Donelda M. Conrad.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, Delmar, Virgil and Donald Conrad; two sisters, Edna Francis and Mabel Everett.
Funeral services will be held at Gomer Congregational Church, Gomer, OH on Saturday, September 27, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. with calling hours one hour prior to services. Pastor Jeff Frantz will officiate and burial will follow in Tawelfan Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 26, 2014 at Harter & Schier Funeral Home. Obituary:
Willard "Willy" D. Watkins, 86, of Gomer, died at 11:29 a.m. Monday at Vancrest Healthcare Center. He was born Sept. 7, 1926, in Gomer to Arthur and Cleo (Baumgardner) Watkins, who preceded him in death. On Jan. 18, 1948, he married Betty Lou Conrad, who survives.
Other survivors include a son, Willard "Rodney" (Nancy) Watkins of Gomer; three daughters, Diana Barnt of Gomer, Mary Jane (Keaton) Vandemark of Spring Hope, N.C., and Sue (Jay) Grusenmeyer of Lima; eight grandsons, Trevor (Angie) Vandemark, Tyler (Boots) Vandemark and Dean (Christina) Vandemark of Spring Hope, Cory Barnt of Columbus, Jon Grusenmeyer of Columbus, Tod Grusenmeyer of New Orleans and Ethan and Travis Watkins of Gomer; and five great-grandchildren and one stepgreat-grandchild.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Lester Watkins; and two sisters, Martha Ensler and Wilma Watkins.
Mr. Watkins was a 1944 graduate of Gomer High School and an Army veteran of World War II, serving in Germany and France. He was an avid Sprint race car fan, a lifetime member of the Gomer United Church of Christ and holder of the certificate for First Families of Allen County.
He was a retired farmer and member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters United Association 776. He retired in 1989 after working 20 years for G.L. Eagy Plumbing and Heating. He was a member of American Legion Post 96, Masonic Lodge 585 and was a 4-H advisor for 25 years for the Gomer Go-Getters. He also served two terms as Sugar Creek Township Clerk.
Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday at Gomer United Church of Christ, the Revs. Brian Knoderer and Terri Barnes officiating. Burial will be in Tawelfan Cemetery, with graveside military rites conducted by the Delphos Veterans Council.
Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. today at Harter and Schier Funeral Home. Preferred memorials are to The Gomer Welsh Society of N.W. Ohio, c/o Mary Agler, 4430 Ridge Road, Elida OH 45807; and Gomer United Church of Christ, 7350 Gomer Road, Gomer OH 45809.

KALIDA - Thomas J. Erhart, 86, of Kalida died 10:45 p.m. Sunday, January 6, 2013 at The Meadows of Kalida.
He was born July 22, 1926 in Kalida to the late Charles and Eleanor (Brinkman) Erhart. On April 19, 1950, he married Rose Mary Catherine Fortman, who died July 5, 2005.
Survivors include two sons: Dennis (Laura) Erhart of Indianapolis, IN and Robert (Janet) Erhart of Kettering; two daughters: Sharon (John) Stechschulte of Kalida and Joann Horstman of Ottoville; eight grandchildren: Craig (Teresa) Stechschulte, Carol (Matt) Jahn, Kevin (Wendy) Stechschulte, Bob (Fiancee Jaimie McIntyre) Horstman, Charlie Erhart, Anne Erhart, Susan Erhart, and Nicholas (Casey) Erhart; a step granddaughter: Gretchen (Jonathan) Stemerick; five great-grandchildren; two sister-in-laws: Theresa Erhart and Norma Erhart; and a brother-in-law: Orville Ellerbrock.
He was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law: Kim Erhart; three brothers: Norbert J., Paul J., and Bernard J. Erhart; and a sister: Mary Ann Ellerbrock.
Mr. Erhart was owner of Erhart-Stechschulte Insurance Agency, Kalida where he was an insurance agent, and was a general agent for Columbus Mutual Life. He graduated in 1950 from University of Dayton in Business and Economics. He was a WWII Navy Veteran and a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Kalida, Lima Deanery Serra Club, St. Rita's Medical Center Developmental Committee, Kalida Fish and Game, Kalida K of C where he was a 4th Degree Knight, and Kalida School Board for 8 years. He was past President of Putnam County School Board of Education for 26 years, past President of St. Michael's Holy Name, past Chairman of Union Bank, and on Board of Putnam County Council on Aging. He was a charter member of Kalida Lions Club, charter member of Country Acres Golf Club, Kalida, and life member of Ottawa VFW Post 9142 and Ottawa American Legion Post 63. He was instrumental in getting a doctor's office in Kalida.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 11, 2013 at with Fr. Mark Hoying officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites by Ottawa VFW and Ottawa American Legion. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township.
