Obituary:
Allen D. Ropp, age 94, of Alma, passed away Sunday, November 3, 2013 at Masonic Pathways in Alma.
Allen was born July 5, 1919 in Attica, Michigan the son of David and Hannah (Snyder) Ropp. He served his country as a Sgt in the United States Army during WWII from February 16, 1945 until his honorable discharge on December 16, 1946. On January 10, 1948 he married Wilma Zinn Loomis in St. Louis.
Allen worked for Total Refinery, retiring in 1977 after 29 years of service and was an affiliate of Local Union OCAW for 10 years. He spent over 16 years farming and owned the State Road Building for many years.
Allen was a member of the Lincoln Road United Methodist Church since 1950 and served as chairman to both the Church Administration Board and Finance Committee. He was also a Board Member for United Way, Big Brothers Big Sisters and served as a member of the 8-Cap Job Training Team.
Allen is survived by his children, Louis (Jeanette) Peterman of Alma, Helen Beeson of St. Louis, Kenna Jean Waldie of Zephyrhills, FL, Vicki (Keith) Perkins of Saginaw, Alana (Michael) Quinn of Naples, FL and David Ropp of Naples, FL, 16 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren. Also two sisters-in-law, Verda Ropp and Shirley Ropp of Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Wilma on October 2, 2011, a daughter, Barbara Ropp and son-in-law, William Beeson, four brothers and two sisters.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at 11 am at the Lincoln Road United Methodist Church with Pastor George Ayoub officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lincoln Road United Methodist Church.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Lux and Schnepp Funeral Home, Riverdale.

Theodore DeBoer, age 90, of Wyoming passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2011. Ted was a veteran and served in WWII. He enjoyed spending time with his family and had a lot of fun with the little ones. Ted was an avid golfer, bowler, fisherman and sports enthusiast. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie, daughter-in-law, Jane DeBoer, parents, Sam and Jenny DeBoer, sister, Anna Doorn. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Zane and Debbi DeBoer, Roy and Pat DeBoer, Val and Gary DeVos, Ted and Judy DeBoer; grandchildren, Harry DeBoer, Chris and Danielle DeBoer, Kari and Darryl Oliver, Tricia and Scott Feenstra, Mark and Michelle Harper, Joel DeBoer; 11 great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Ernie Doorn; sisters-in-law, Trudy Kooistra, Doris Kooistra; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services have previously been held at Lee Street Christian Reformed Church with Rev. Kent Rottman officiating. Nellie J. (Kooistra) DeBoer, aged 86, of Wyoming, went to her heavenly home on Monday, May 25, 2009 and is now with her Lord and Savior, and enjoying a reunion with her nine brothers and sisters and their spouses; daughter-in-law, Jane DeBoer; and sister-in-law, Annie Doorn, who preceded her. Nellie was a caring and giving person, who loved the Lord and shared her faith with her cherished family. She was an avid walker, loved to crochet and enjoyed playing golf with her husband, Ted. She was an employee of Keebler, retiring after 28 years of service. She will be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of 68 years, Ted DeBoer; children, Zane and Debbie DeBoer, Roy and Pat DeBoer, Val and Gary DeVos, Ted and Judy DeBoer; grandchildren, Harry and Sue DeBoer, Chris and Danielle DeBoer, Kari and Darryl Oliver, Tricia and Scott Feenstra, Mark and Michelle Harper, Joe DeBoer; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Trudy Kooistra, Doris Kooistra; brother-in-law, Ernie Doorn; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Obituary:
Wilma L. Ropp, age 91, of Alma, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2011 at the Masonic Pathways in Alma.
Wilma was born December 5, 1919 in Alma the daughter of Allen and Carrie (Sinclair) Zinn. She married Allen Ropp on January 10, 1948 in St. Louis. She worked for 33 years as a LPN for Masonic Hospital, Smith Memorial and Gratiot Community Hospital before retiring in 1976. Wilma was a member of the Lincoln Road United Methodist Church, a former member of the Michigan LPN Association, board member of Patient Equipment Locker and President of the United Methodist Women.
She is survived by her husband, Allen of Alma, children Louis (Jeanette) Peterman of Alma, Helen Beeson of St. Louis, Kenna Jean Waldie of Tampa, FL., Vicki (Keith) Perkins of Saginaw, Alana (Michael) Quinn of Naples, FL and David Ropp of Naples, FL, 16 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. Also sister Thelma DeHart of Alma.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Barbara Ropp and son-in-law, William Beeson.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 5th at 11 am at the Lincoln Road United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Jana Lynn Alemdia officating. Interment will be in Chapel Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Lincoln Road United Methodist Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Lux-Moody-Wolfel Funeral Home, Alma.
