Burial headstone, Clearwater Township Cemetery, Rapid City, MIObituary:
Daniel Tuller's passing on Thursday, January 26, 2023 has been publicly announced by Grace Memorial Cremation & Burials in Clinton Township, MI.
MANISTIQUE - Daniel Eugene Tuller Sr., 75 of Manistique, Mich., died on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2023, in Detroit, Mich. Dan was born Oct. 3, 1947, in Traverse City, Mich., the son of Cecil and Ardis (Day) Tuller.
He grew up in Rapid City, Mich., was the oldest of four boys and a veteran of the Vietnam War.
He married Wanda Lou Zimmerman on Nov. 26, 1966. They had four children, three daughters and a son. Dan loved to sit by a campfire or on a porch telling stories and bragging about his children and grandchildren. He had great pride in his family.
Dan worked for the State of Michigan for 32 years. He saw the closure of the Traverse City State Hospital and the facility in Newberry, Mich. The last few years of his working career he traveled back and forth from Rapid City, Mich. to Mt. Pleasant, Mich., until he retired.
Dan was a true outdoorsman. He loved fishing and hunting. He had just as much fun hunting as he did finding and baiting new spots for the family to hunt. He also loved to call the family and give them current fishing and hunting reports (no one was faster at spreading the news than Dan). It didn't matter to him if he was successful or if it was one of his family members.
If he wasn't hunting or fishing you would find Dan on his side-by-side or snowmobile leading family and/or friends on a UP adventure.
Dan will be lovingly remembered as a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. Dan is predeceased in death by his parents, and brothers Dewayne and David.
Dan is survived by his wife, Wanda, of 56 years; four children, 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild which include, Carol (Ward) Johnson and their three children, Ryan, Shawn and Nicholas and grandchild Olivia; Jan (Todd) Nowak and their two children, Samantha and Ashley; Daniel Jr (Dana) and their five children, Liam, Daniel III, Flynn, Zane and Vivian; and Renae (Jordan) Maeder and their two children, Wyatt and Hunter; one brother, Douglas (Beverly) Tuller; and many extended family members.
