Gloden Gregory John* [Male] b. 23 FEB 1951 Lansing, MI - d. 8 SEP 2024 Holland, OH

Obituary:
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gregory Greg John Gloden, 73, of Holland, Ohio. He passed peacefully on September 8th surrounded by his loving family. Greg is survived by his wife of 50 years, Dana, sons Gabe and Brett, and grandchildren Beatrice and Rock who will miss him dearly. He will also be missed by his siblings, Barbara Moran (Phil), Susan Dragonetti, Dan Gloden(Lorena), Cathy Fedonni and many wonderful nieces and nephews. Greg was preceded in death by his parents Don and Jean Gloden.
Greg was born in Lansing, Michigan. His family moved when he was a small child to Jackson where he grew up and graduated from Parkside High School. He attended San Mateo College and the University of Michigan. Greg began his career working for Aeroquip Corporation as a draftsman and quickly moved into sales and marketing. Greg and Dana moved to Seattle WA where their two sons were born. Alaska was his first adventure in a long career that would take him to every continent, but Antarctica, and earn him leadership awards as well as a U.S. Patent for a coupling assembly. He would go on to work for Eaton Corporation and Phillips & Temro before retiring.
During retirement Greg devoted much of his time to community service. He volunteered with Hands of Grace in Fulton County providing transportation services for the elderly and disabled and respite for caretakers at their Adult Day Center. Greg also taught Junior Achievement classes to all ages. He said it really helped him appreciate teachers! He also made weekly deliveries of baked goods donated by Panera to shelters and food pantries.
Like his Dad, Greg was a devoted Detroit Tiger fan. He was also an avid University of Michigan fanlast year was so great for him. Greg loved food and all cooking shows. But, his favorite pastime was doing the New York Times crossword puzzles.
Greg will be remembered for his kind, gentle, and generous heart. He had a wonderful personality and sense of humor and was friendly and welcoming to everyone. A dear friend said this about GregHe was an incredible and admirable man who made the world a much better place.
A celebration of Gregs life will be held September 30, 2024 at 11:00 AM at The Lodge at Strawberry Acres Park in Holland. This park was special to Greg because he walked his dog, Eero, there daily, giving out treats to other dogs and to kids to give to Eero.
